Yep... here we are playing soldier. Hope we're not making a mockery of this to you real military folk.

Relax... you're not making a mockery of anything.
Though I like the idea of "campaign ribbons"... where in the hell would something like that be made?
Regarding ribbons/medals, I know there are places who have what are known as "Commemorative Medals". I'll list a link below for U.S. Marine Corps commemoratives, but here is what is stated on the main page:
"For over 225 years Commemorative Medals have been a traditional way of honoring our veterans.
- They recognize campaigns, service, or historical events a Veteran patricipated in or supported.
- Commemoriative medals are not issued by the government and are not authorized on official military uniforms, but can be worn on civilian and organizational clothing."

Now, I wouldn't have an issue with wearing several of these commemorative ribbons on a USCM dress uniform, mainly because several of them are applicable to me in the real-world.... and though I have "real" medals/ribbons from my time in the service, I would never...ever... wear them. Civilian commemoratives, on the other hand, I wouldn't take issue with.
My point here is that perhaps other branches (or other country's branches) have something similar for the civilian market?
And, also... say (for instance) I wore the "Marine Corps commemorative ribbon" on my USCM dress... would anyone here have issue with it? Or any, for that matter?
