This reservation business - how long before do you have to cancel, should it come to that? Without encurring fees?

I really, really want to come, but making plans that far ahead is actually kinda tricky for me. Not to mention unusual!

Also, who bunks with whom and according to what rules?

As far as I know you can cancel right up until the last week or so without incurring any cancellation fees.

As far as bunking....if you want a bed then reserve a room and fill it with other people or if your not too bothered then find someone with a room and try to reserve the chair or spot under the desk in the corner

I think it's 72hrs notice for cancellation with the hotel rooms (might be less- even 24hrs).

As far as who is with whom... anything goes I guess.

There will be the two beds, and only a fold out bed extra in there. Which won't be an issue since ya know...we don't have three other girls in the rooms with 22 pieces of luggage between them. And that is I shit you not.

If I make it over, I'd be very greatfull for a spot of floor somewhere in some kind person's room. Don't mind where, I'm easy (but that's another story. Ha!) so long as it's warm.

It sure can't be any worse than some of the places I have slept!

The Marriott has 1600 rooms so I would worry about being on the floor just yet.

I'll be booking a room in the new year. I don't mind sharing if you're interested.

For those booking later- don't leave it past March at latest. The convention rate rooms will probably be sold out by then.

Last year they had three hotels hosting the event (as opposed to the usual two). I'm not sure what the rates are for the Hyatt and Hilton, but the Marriott was $150 per night.

You know- I was noticing that with the three hotels- it is as if the convention is becoming too big. You really could use an extra few days to actually see everything and go to the various panels. Personally I just enjoy walking around in costume so missing the panels is no big deal.

I'll definitely be pulling a Joe Ranger more often next year. I have at least 4 costumes lined up. If I manage to pull it together in time, I'll have a 5th secret costume.
