The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Don't know anymore about it than what is posted at the link above.

Is that Alien a commercially available one?

I'm sure I saw Jason Joiner selling them at one of his Memorabilia stands once.

Gutted, I'm away on the Sat, this would have been fun, and it's on my doorstep too!

Bruce, Lucas, Paul, anyone else close..........you seen this?

I might try to go to have a look later.

Gareth, how about if we speak to the organisers and see if we can let Abe loose in the cave system???

That would scare the living s*@t out of the punters!!

Cheers,

Andy

I've sent them an email. Unfortunately, I linked them to that beige website so I dunno if I'll hear back. Also, we've missed the opening of the exhibition ...

That Alien looks to be the 'Aliens' version, or at least the feet and the head are from 'Aliens'; the photo is far too small to see much detail beyond that.

I don't think there's a commercially available 'Aliens' warrior available so presumably this is a one-off. The ones that Joiner used to sell were from 'Resurrection', unless he's got hold of something else recently - he had the AR Aliens on his stall at the 1999 convention in Shepperton.

Thinking about it though wasn't 'Alien Invasion' the name of the Exhibition at the NSC last year? Maybe Malika can throw some light on our mystery Xenomorph! :)

Hi Gareth/Abe,

Many thanks for your email and your very kind offer to help promote Torquay Museum’s Alien Invasion exhibition. Ex-Dr Who Girl Anneke Wills (who starred in the series in the 1960s) is guest of honour at the official launch of the exhibition at the Museum at 10.30am on Saturday 4th July, when she will be accompanied by a moving, talking Dalek, two Storm Troopers and Darth Vader. If you could supply someone dressed as Alien or the Predator for the launch, that would be fantastic. Our Storm Troopers and Darth Vader are planning to walk through Torquay town centre after the launch, handing out flyers.

The exhibition contains an Alien used in the film, together with a full-scale Alien head, Facehugger, Queen Alien head, scaled-down Alien egg and a bust of Predator.

Please feel free to call me if you have any questions.

Best wishes and many thanks for your offer of help,

Carl Smith

Hmm, I could make it this Saturday but only if other people can: I'm meant to be working Saturday night and would need to be back for that.

Anyone else fancy this?

That is the Joiner Alien I was thinking of, I couldn't remember what it looked like!

I'll be popping down to the exhibition at some point I'll take some photos and ask some questions! :)

Well done on getting a response G.

Screen used Alien eh??

Is this true?

Cool if it is!

Typical!

I'm away on the Saturday.

If peeps can't make it this weekend maybe we could do a 'mid term' promotion if anyones up for it and they want it?

Maybe give Terry a shout and see if he wants to pop up for a nosey?

Cheers,

Andy

Not thick at all, a case of me not posting proper information!

Jason Joiner promotes events and signings, Collectormania is his most prominent event.

He is also a collector of props/costumes and memorabilia.

In the early days he used to put on a few displays and would often have items for sale.

I remember seeing a 1:1 Alien for sale on one of his stands in the mid - late nineties, I thought the photo in the link may have been one of his, but as Harry pointed out it isn't!

:D
