The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Now the launch event has been confirmed as starting at 6:30pm, does that mean it's a non-public (media only) event?

Also, any crash space available with someone would be nice. :)

I have space for 2-3 people of they don't mind getting cost. ADC has said he can offer space but he'll need to confirm since he's in the middle of DIY hell at the moment.

Just an armchair will do me fine, as I doubt I'll get much sleep anyway. I prefer my own bed at home and I can just have a lie in on the Saturday. :D

Come on I gotta have a bit of fun!!!

Yes I will indeed be spending the day with David Tennant in London as we record the naration for the new Space Theatre show and the NSC radio adverts for 2009.

It is all work (well apart from a bit of lunch) so hope to get him to come out that night if I can.

NO FRICKING WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Even if he doesn't come out in the evening please do pass on my sincerest admiration for all his TV work so far, he is outstanding, Cassanova and Doctor Who especially.

I keep meaning to write a letter to him telling him so, but I guess he gets billions of letters already.

Wow, you lucky devil you, I'm not jealous at all!

Getting back on topic there's a change of plan regarding the opening of Terry's exhibition.

After speaking with Jonathan Sands, the owner of the Movieum, and subsequently Terry himself it's been decided that a group of Marines would be out of context for that particular event.

There are a couple of reasons for this; firstly Terry's exhibition is primarily based around his work on 'Excalibur' and the whole design of his room is themed in a medieval style. 'Aliens' doesn't really feature at all. Secondly the evening is also the opening night of the new Beatles exhibition at the Movieum so the whole night has very much a historical feel as opposed to a futuristic one.

To this end Jonathan and Terry have requested that we don't attend in costume, but - and this is the good news - we're all very welcome to attend anyway. I know Terry is really looking forward to seeing us all and I know the feeling is mutual.

One last thing is that Jonathan mentioned that he has plans for sci-fi events in the future at the Movieum so the 12th might be a good idea for us all to check out the building and maybe come up with some suggestions for how we can be part of any future events there.

I hope no-one is disappointed with this news; let's face it, you don't have to lug all your gear there now! See you on the 12th! :)

Harry

Indeed. I quickly learned that it's impossible to un-see something the first time!

I haven't been told anything which suggests it's black tie or anything. I'd say smart casual probably. Shirt & trousers, no trainers - that kind of thing really. Just dress up a bit! :)

I will check though.

Harry

Oh, that's a shame but totally understandable. I'm not quite so sad to be missing it now.... unless Tennant turns up. ;)

NB - I'm not really a screaming fangirl. I don't even like Doctor Who. I just feel that it's expected whenever Mr Tennant is mentioned.

As this will be a non- costume event, i might be able to come to this event straight from work, doubt i'll be able to get anytime off work, unless i pull a sicky! which means i'll have to head home sometime Thursday night.
I'll look at train times etc over the weekend when im not tied up..

If it's not in armour does that mean I can come too?

Whether I can or not I still have some sleeping space available at mine. Rick has already asked for the sofa but I've got some floorspace going :)

Terry's actual words were "the more, the merrier". I know he's expecting about 20 or so of us, and the owner knows that too.
