The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I was thinking it was an internal leg armature.

There are some other pipe bits on the helmet, so I'm thinking it may not be a model part.

Gio, could you give the diameters of the right two spheres and the
cylinder? And the left sphere diameter?

Also a pict of underside of the front part of the sight. Looks like some details there..

Hey Matt

Any idea where we can get this piece from?

Image

Doesn't seem to be part of the kit so would appreciate any pointers on finding one.

Cheers

Yeah, I made that thing from that stuff.

Just like my old electrician days!

If you look at Spunkmeyer's helmet, you can see another one

on the other side that is empty.

Copper wire would be easier. My finger tips were raw for a few days.

Matt,
I might be wrong, but from a quick check I'd say the view finder should dive a little more into the front section as the gap where the "missile" will go seems too large. Also the Regult part should be set back a little bit more.
Nevertheless - great work as always :D

Could you post a picture straight from the front?

Cheers,
Stefan

Still needs alot of adjusting still. Just loosely hot-glued together.

Very nice!
I was thrown off for a moment by Regult part, but I guess that just because it doesn't have the cylinder on top.

Cheers,
Stefan

For those of you, who are going to do a Ferro helmet - here's a nice little nitpicking (I just found out about it myself):

Spunkmeyer to the left, Ferro to the right.

I would say that the Ferro helmet is missing a piece rather than being different on purpose, just like the Spunkmeyer helmet on the left is "missing" the two pieces directly below that section which are visible on the Ferro helmet.

Actually, the answer is even simpler: Both helmet were done like Spunkmeyer's but the circled part got pushed in later (probably when it was damaged). In this picture you can see the glue/filler still has the ring structure from the time, when the part was still in it's original position:

So false alarm.... sorry.

Stefan

Yeah if you read one of Gio's posts, it says that piece was loose.

(mobile as he said)

I don't remember if this was ever finalized...

I think the tube is actually an airbrush hose. The bike pump hoses seem to big to me. See the disconnect... This would fit on the end of the hose. Most likely the hose and the disconnect was peiced together for the helmet. Not actually functional in the real world.

Thoughts..

I'm still set on the cycle pump hose.
My airbrush hose is the same size as my pump hose. Given that the pump hose has the exact connector as we have identifed on the helmet already attached to it I think it less likely that it was pieced together from two different parts.

I agree with the pump hose, the end looks crimped onto the hose, not simply stuffed in or glued

I'm afraid no brandname. It's one of several old pump hoses I've had in a box of stuff for years. They're all pretty standard though. Just make sure not to by one designed for a Schrader valve as they are different.

is your pump hose have the knurled end smaller than the hose?
Can you post a picture of what you have?

thanks.

And that cable looks like it would work just fine for the other side. Very cost effective too.

They won't fit into the front piece.

Recheck my post (page 28) see how the hama

cable is much slimmer.
