The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Tel said he's happy to share a room with us guys. Obviously he should have a bed though, that goes without saying.

I haven't asked him about contacting Dragon*Con to ask about the guest thing, but it's worth a try! :)

Well no, she's normally known as Her Royal Highness, M'lady, Ma'am or Mistress. But Ruth will do. :)

Increasingly looking like this might not be happening for me due to the cost of several on-going projects... of course, a year to manage the savings, but in all likelihood, all my money is going to be going to the big projects on-going.

Fingers crossed! D:

Tell me about it! I love the convention. But there is a serious risk that I may not because the £700-1000 that it costs to go could go towards my current film project... much needed funds, sadly.

Other token Brits are available. Level of humour and conversation vary. Adjust with alcohol to achieve social fit, although over supply can lead to awkwardness and/or embarrassment. No credit or refunds, supplied as seen.

You'll be coming, Pete. You can't finally get a load of us coming, then stop doing the D'Con thing yourself!

NEWSFLASH courtesy of Percy Pred!

BAD NEWS: BA has ceased their direct service from Gatwick to Atlanta so we will probably be flying from the dreaded Heathrow Terminal Five. (the other direct choice being Delta, and they're sh¬tbags).

GOOD NEWS: BA.com is currently showing the flight as costing £334.60 if you book now. I'm unsure whether it is on an upward or downward slope but that is a great price. I plan to book it my ticket when I'm paid.

After the palava with Delta Group Sales, I think we should all make individual bookings this time round.

Details:

Outbound - Thursday 3 Sep, 2009
15:05 3 Sep
Heathrow (London) to Atlanta BA0227
Arrives: 19:15
British Airways World Traveller

Inbound - Tuesday 8 Sep, 2009
22:00 8 Sep
Arrives 11:05 9 Sep
Atlanta Heathrow (London) BA0226
British Airways World Traveller

Note that this is the SAME days as we did last year, and correspond to the nights that we are booked into the Marriott. However, note that both flights are somewhat later than the ones for 2008

You are of course able to book to arrive or leave on a different day as required if you want to do some sightseeing etc, but I will endeavour to get every UKCM on the above flights seated in a group.

For the outward flight in particular, if you all send me your BA booking numbers, I can do online checkin for everyone and seat us all together that way.

Just to clarify Gareth you're not going to book all the seats on your credit card and collect payments from us this year,is that right?

Good job on the research chaps! :)

[Edited for grammar]

Yup, I think we should all make individual bookings this time round.

But I will coordinate checking in best I can to make sure we can still sit in the group on the aircraft for the flights listed above.

Just a heads up, Ruth and me wont be going next year, got a big family holiday to pay for and a few other expenses, so even with the massive amount of time to save we couldn't afford it.

Roll on 2010!
