The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Iron Man is without a doubt the best Marvel movie I have seen to date.
I can only highly recomend it.
As well, do yourself a favour and wait for the little bit after the credits, well worth it !

Yeah, agreed. I saw it last night. I thought it was a great movie.
I'm glad now I avoided the trailers (apparently a lot of the action is in there).

Great casting, good dialogue and I thought the effects worked really well.

The most adult super hero movie I've seen to date.
Great stuff.

Great fun superhero romp. The summer blockbusters are off to a good start this year

I took my 7 year old son along and he enjoyed the whole thing.
Watching the trailer you can see mostly the kind of action and gun play that is in the movie.
If you are ok with that, then I would say you are fine.

I saw it too, loved it! Very, very cool.

If you are worried about your kid(s) seeing it, there are one or two violent death scenes, not shown, but its still obvious what happened.

However, about that part after the credits, I for one am very unhappy with their choice of actors for that role. Call me an old traditionalist...

Awesome movie. It is a real movie, not just a guy is a suit special effect montage.
I can't believe I sat in the seat watching 10 minutes of credits for the "bonus" while having to pee like a race horse.

Sorry Scott, my monitor has better contrast than yours. That was easily readable. :(

Please DO NOT put any spoilers in threads that are marked "No Spoilers". If you really want to make text invisible in the "green" background then the "green" colour option won't cut it (cos it's a different shade of green. )

I will implement proper spoiler tags when AL moves to the new version of phpBB.

Awesome, awesome and just plain awesome!!

Agreed on the actor choice at the end credits (no spoilers)

One of my favorite actors, but since I've been reading comics since I was a kid, I wouldn't have thought of him. Kurt Russell would have been waay cool!

Rex, the actor and character you are referring to... do a Google search for the "Ultimate" character. It will make sense if you know.

:)

Yeah, I'm aware of all the Marvel 'Ultimate' heroes. Just not a big fan of them. I mean, the guy in question goes waaaaay back with Captain America, and they just go and totally change him. Oh, and the legendary hammer of Thor? They changed it to a flathead axe. Its a HAMMER, people.

Just my $0.02.

I saw it at the Archlight Dome in Hollywood over the weekend.

I enjoyed it even though it was a midnight showing.

They had a screen-used suit in the lobby.

No... see the purpose of the Ultimates universe is that things you take for granted (like Captain America being from WW2) don't matter.

It might not make sense to us "old timers" but its very cool and interesting to see a new take on an old character without messing with mainline "616" continuity.
