The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Welcome, welcome one and all to the USCM! My apologies as well as Tony's, it's been too long since I checked this thread!

Doc, good to see you made it over from Sci-Fi Hero!

Now, what's this about Furry Marines?? Are we talking about armored Wookies or me without a shirt?!

Hi,

I was searching for some game footage for the new Colonial Marines game that is coming out soon on youtube and came across footage of people at conventions dress as Colonial Marines and in one of the videos I saw a link to http://www.colonialmarines.net/ and some how found my way in here. :)

I must admit, your costumes and props are amazing, you guys and gals did an outstanding job on them. Keep it up.

I am a big Sci-Fi fan (especially Military science fiction - Thanks a lot James Cameron!!) and I'm starting to get back into film making/ (digital) special effects. I have never been to a convention in my life, so somebody will have to explain to me what you people do there, and what usually goes on at one.

We drink. And then we fall down. Not always in that order.

Welcome aboard!

LOL. Simplicity at it's best.

We go to cons, hang out and BS the time away. If there are enough Marines we do colony Sweeps (helps if you have bugs or preds tho), and just enjoy ourselves.

Don't forget standing around having millions of pictures snapped of you. :)

While drinking.

Even if you fell down.

Drunken Space Marines! :D

That's cool, it sounds like you have a blast (no pun intended) when you go there. I was under the impression you where the is some sort of official Convention manner.

Well, I'm usually at conventions as a celebrity guest, and in the past, the Marines have been used as Security for shows.

At the NSC Show in the UK, the Marines (both UKG and UKCM) were officially involved in many different ways), and at DragonCon the Legacy group has a fan table, and occasionally gets to escort or guard the Aliens actors that are there.

Hello all!

It took me a while to register, but I am finally on. My Spat armor should be coming in any day now and I am half-way through with my SPulse Rilfe build. Looking forward to conversations with the group!

Actually, I just boxed up your armor last night. Sadly, I'm leaving for a con in a few minutes and won't be able to ship it out until Monday. But it's almost in your hands!

Your grenade loops are packed up, just have to re-paint the throat guard.

Hello everyone!

My name is Luc and I'm part of the "northern" group UACM.
Some of you might remember me from Polaris 07 but I didn't have a Colonial marine uniform at that time(I was in Star Wars and Stargate uniforms). I'll be joining you at the next Dragon*Con drop as a marine and/or bug. :D

See you soon!

Got a thing for twins, Mike? Although one of his sisters (Vanessa) will be at DCon with us (in Pred costume), both will be at Polaris... lucky us!

Here's a look at Luc's first drop with the gallant crew of the UAS Macdonald.
