The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

here you go next part of the saga, :D I think the pictures pretty much speak for themselves, if you have any questions please ask, this is my third attempt at getting this right  couldn't get the narrowing at the front correct its hard to bend it straight, and cut the ejector slot in the right place, about half way through will stick more up as i go , let me know what you think :? Thanks for stoppin by patrick  the receiver is made from two pieces of box section welded longditudinally see picture Image "big words make I sweat" i couldnt find the size stock i needed on the island,so welded two together, the steel i used for the spas cage is only 1mm thick not man enough for the receiver, once i welded them i cut off the bottom and join inside hey presto ,the narowing of the neck is the hardest part to get the bends straight and paralell and then cutting in the ejector slot in the right place with the correct overlap on that bend made me sweat some more, :? hence it took me 3 tries but i'm ok with this one its the best so far. all the best dude Rob

Don't forget some areas won't be seen for the shroud so needn't be bothered about overmuch.

cheers specopsdet1 appreciate the imput :D ,and a big thank you to all you guys that helped me with this part "you know who you are"when its finished it will have a working bolt and i'm trying for an eject on full cock "ooh errr missus" i have it worked out just got to put it together, think it will be trick if i can get it to spit out a round on demand, i want it to push a round out of the mag as you pull the cocking lever all the way back and acheive this by using an old m/cycle speedo cable :? , and a spring in the front receiver or barrel to push the cartridge back and out, also if you pull the trigger with the rifle on half cock it will click back to close ejector port, i cant draw well enough to show you guys what i mean but if i can get it to work i will post it, got a lot of making to do yet ,lower receiver ,trigger assembly and magazine, i have got the rails on the side of the upper receiver to put on next i want it to tie in as on a real Thompson with the trigger assembly just slotting together.its a big ask i know but given time i think i can pull it all off, sadly by doing all this i will have to bury it at the bottom of the garden i think  wouldnt dare take it out ,but the good thing for me is i know i built it,and maybe thats enough. all the best Marines . Rob

I thank you for your comment dude but you aught to see it close up it could be a lot better ,this is the 3rd version i have made and it nearly led to a fourth .just couldnt face starting it again so decided to go with this one,i have so much else to do so needed to push on with it ,starting the trigger assembly today ,should be fun  with all the problems i have had with this i still think the spas cage was the hardest to make ,the trigger section and shrouds are the last realy hard bits to make, still got to sort out a grenade launcher as well, lookin forward to that ,got some ideas for it,all the best. Rob

well here we go on the lower /trigger assembly :D ,take two 13mm by 24mm by 50mm steel blocks ,and drill a million holes in em  ,i started with a 2mm drill and worked my way up 2mm at a time to 12mm untill the holes i drilled finaly met up and cut out the trigger slot did the same with cutting the excess off ,decided to add the tail piece later it was to much to cut through so will weld it on when bottom part is finished ,had to do this in two parts so i can drill out between them to create the voids for the trigger etc ,will weld the two sides together afterward, will stick up more pics if anyone is interested ?, if you decide to go down this road it takes a long time to cut them out. 3 days so far and im half way done  all the best , Rob

Are you going to punch in the Thompson lettering on your receiver?

How come you don't blue those beautiful steel parts instead of painting them?

Damn impressive work?

Any plans to offer your services and parts?
