The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well here is another project that i will never finish. It is going to take some thought and a lot of work. Fortunatly, I am standing on the shoulders of giants; Spat and Matt.
The stock, barrel and vent are metal from Matsucorp
The GL, also from Matt, is resin but functional, an amazing piece of work. Sorry buddy, If I had known you could chamber a shell I would have paid more :D
Spat made the shroud, counter, mag well, cap, and trigger group. The detail on these is outstanding. I may not even paint some of the black parts, I love the look of the resin.
Some of the grenades are from Tommin, I can't remember who sent me the others.
The knife is steel, made by me with a rounded tip for spinning in the palm; very fun.
The VP-70's I stole from Dom at Dcon  He must have been feeling generous, hung over or both.

Assembly will be a bitch since I chose Spat's parts because they were solid, but Matt uses a actual shroud. I am mounting a high power laser in the receiver, so I can't just glue everything together. I am going to post more pics with some of the challenges. All help apreiciated.
Yes it would have been easier to get all the parts from the same person, but I have a vision...

That looks awesome!

My question though: I also didn't get my parts from one seller, since I have a vision too. But why didn't you go with an airsoft one? Because of the weight? Is this for "trooping"? Or is it because you just wanted a solid shroud?

You donated one to the raffle, and sold me the other one for a very reasonable price. The exchange rate must have been different. Although, people are very generous at Dcon.

I have an M1A1, but decided not to make it a PR. I needed a solid shroud to embed the electronics, specifically the laser. I am buying a high power green laser which will burn through electrical tape and pop balloons.

Thanks guys, I am going to take my time with this one. It will be the showpiece of my collection. As you know, I am more of a "scrounger" prop guy. I like to find or make stuff that is close enough for my needs because I enjoy the challenge more than the finished product. To me, the PR is only eclipsed by the light saber it terms of SciFi cool icons. I want to get this one right.

Hmm, I actually finished a project. (Almost) Have to touch up the paint and install the counter. It is a beautiful piece. It would have been easy to assemble, but I wanted to retain the ability to take it apart.

The color looks all wrong because I used Humbrol 170 Matt instead of OD;) Paint not quite dry yet in some spots.

It brought a tear to my eye to see you two "fitting together" so well.
Hmmm, it does look like chocolate. Maybe I should paint it green:)

Thanks to you both. This is my new favorite.
