The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

When I took a photo of the VP I'm trying to sell, I figured I'd go ahead and take a photo of all three of the models I have on hand.

Image

-Top, Emperial dart gun
-Middle, Emperial cap gun with removable clip (thanks Dom!)
-Bottom, I can't be sure, but I think it's cast of a real firearm.

The Emperial dart and cap guns are almost identical, I'd say about 97% so. The BIG difference is between the triggers, and the aforementioned clip. The slides on both move.

The resin version, completely static.

The big difference between the resin and the toy pistols can be seen around the trigger guard area. The toy versions also lack the mag release button.

Little nit-pick... they're made by Imperial Toy LLC in China, not Emperial.

Here's a video of the magazine cap gun version.

I picked up a few Imperial brands at a local store the other day for $2.00 a piece.

Sorry Dom, I could have sworn it was spelled the other way.

Very cool DB. :)

The static resin VP looks just like the one I'm working on (still have to paint it)... looks like the "toothpaste" model. An impressive model since there is little sanding work needed, very few bubbles, and only a few spots to "fix" before priming.

The Imperial cap gun is sweet!

[thread hijack] Dom, have any left? Any customs issues shipping to the states? [/thread hijack]

The solid resin model is a little short in length compared to an airsoft VP (which I'm assuming is to the same specs as a real VP) It's almost a negligible difference, but I noticed it a few nights back when comparing details between the resin model and my airsoft.

Great paint job on the resin VP. Can we see some close-ups?

Did the VP-70 not have a safety?

Yes, it's just behind the trigger. Push for safe.

You can see its mechanism here:

Yeah... that's the only thing wrong with the MGC version. Otherwise it's a sweet piece -- and I still own two of them.

On the other hand, my Tanio Koba is absolutely top drawer...

Complete with working safety and slide blowback. Hell yeah -- that's what I'm talking about.

ya know...I have a real VP that my father gave me. I was thinking of breaking it down and molding the two receivers along with a mag to give it a heavier feel to carry at Dcon. Input welcome
