Dear marines,

Because of a combination of the grief I felt over the tragic passing of our friend Chris and current personal events in my life, I have taken a decision to take a temporary leave of absence from several of my pursuits, USCM fandom including.

I will finish what I have started in regards to Chris' memorial as the last few signatures come in and will send the plaque to Joy with whatever remains from what I have donated from you... as well as the distribution of the memorial armbands that have already been ordered.

I still plan to be present at Polaris 22 and DragonCon this year... so I am not disappearing totally.

If someone could please volunteer to replace me temporarily for the maintenance of USCM service numbers, this would be greatly appreciated... all it takes if a bit of time and a basic knowledge of Excel.

... and of course, those of you who are my friends have my phone number.

My Providence watch over us all...

Well, the allure of being here, as well as with the support of my friends... I'm sort of back. :) Not as hardcore as I used to be, but here nonetheless.

I had a massive breakdown in my relationship (to the tune of being kicked out), a large portion of it was caused by my obsessions (USCM included)... so I have to learn to control the amount of time I spend here.

It may sound silly to some of you, but this place is addictive.

Thanks to all of you who sent messages and called... you're all brothers as far as I'm concerned.
