The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well, yes that's true. But given the hoops that HMRC make them jump through...

It's irritating but perhaphs not wholey out of order.

Slowly but surely, dude... Had a lot of wedding stuffs on recently so haven't had time to do much. Gave it a sand, and a coat of primer so far.

Bazfish - Apologies, haven't been able to get yours sent yet as Mum's in Spain so can't take it for me and every time I've gone to the Post Office on my break, the queue's been out the damn door!

Notice the two bits of clear polycarb just cut/drilled for the rear of the armour mountings.

All done now, bar fitting the two brackets to the armour and the sewing of the patches/velcro to the bdu jacket (ongoing, hope it's ready by the weekend). :)

Guess we'll have to meet and suit up sometime soon. 8)

I just like to see how things are built, that's all. 8)

Brackets now fitted:

I might put two washers between bolt head and poly plates in the future, but they seem solid enough for now. 8)

Can you see where I had to move the plate down, drilling a new hole?

Looks good PVB, although I think you would be better to rivet the brackets into place so that the screws don't stick so far out like that. Just a suggestion

Cheers

I used what came 'out of the box' but can rivet the brackets on instead. :)

Those were all the bolts I had, I pretty much intended for them to be cut off to the right height, didn't want to make tthem too short considering some guys will be using washers and backing plates etc.

I'm not the one complaining about the bolts.

I don't have rivets long enough at the moment anyway, so it'll have to stay like it is for now. :)

I cut the holes in the armour and clear poly using my Dremel, Sellotaping the brackets in place to help gauge where/how big the holes had to be. :)

Did you get your lamp working PVD? It really impresses people at cons when you show them your gear works. Also great for photo shoots. Otherwise, you looking completely badass!

Now working:

The bulb is a Krypton torch bulb and is bright enough that if you look straight at it you do this:

Works off a 4.5volt lamp battery, secured in the main unit with bubble wrap. :)
