The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

People, we are MARINES. Real marines may well swear like... well, marines, but I bet if they were interacting with civilians they would be careful not to swear on pain of punishment from a superior.

Lets act like professional Marines and check our harsh language in front of the civilians!!

Well said Phil!

If I'd said anything even remotely controversial, never mind sworn, to or at civvies while in green kit, I'd have been bounced around the parade square for hours...

No harsh language?
Man, what are we supposed to use? Pulse rifles?

You ARE all aware that the very act of posting in this thread with any sort of anti-swearing sentiment increases your chances of painfully banging your head or stubbing your toe by a factor of 100?

i agree there is no need for swearing...i know we are playing a part....

but would you go to someones house and swear in front of thier kids? i hope not.....and i doubt you would use those words in front of your own kids........well maybe if you come from Chatham....

i don't swear in front of strangers unless they do first, so i won't be up there....but once in the bar.......anyone catches me doing it in front of kids..i'll buy them a pint later......

 Cant be worse than Sittingbourne!! Though I imagine its a close run thing! I was out and about a few months ago, and there were these two girls, about 4 years old, shouting at each other "YOu F******* shut up" "No, you f****** shut up!" "No you f****** shut up" etc. Awwww... bless!
