The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

GOOD MORNING DOC:

1. You're welcome.
2. VP-70 Nice! MAA does the holster.
First set of USCM patches-cool.
Boots- Bootifull.
Master replicas motion tracker- Mmmm...I'm very envious!
Basic WEB gear- webtastic.

3. ordering BDU;s from MAA next week -Good choice, I have MAA bdus and am very pleased with them. Great camo pattern.
4. looking at MEDICAL gear/PAC -Can't help with that, but look forward to seeing your progress.
5. ARMOR - Three main choices, that i know of;

Spat armour. Great value for money, ABS so flexes nicely, is comfy and light. Comes ready built. I advise to go for Olive Drab and paint your own camo, partly for screen authenticity but partly because then it makes it YOURS. I have Spat armour and love it.

MAA- Fibreglass armour. Larger than Spats, good for the 'fuller' gentleman. More screen accurate, comes with the little shoulder insert panels, slightly crisper, more pleasing shaped parts. Comes as a kit so requires build-up. Rigid, so not so comfy to wear, but feels like armour! Make sure you attach shoulder bridges with elastic as per the movie armour to allow movement, unlike the Spat armour which has the shoulder bridges rivetted to the backplate (which is fine because they flex).

Terry English armour- Lets face it, the ultimate. Only we're talking four figures instead of the three figures that Spat and MAA are. What's to be said? If you can afford it, do it!

6. M41A - This completely depends upon what you want and what you want to spend.

There are essentially four 'levels' of Pulse Rifle, in terms of price and authenticity;

1: The Spulse. Good bang for your buck. Solid Resin. Illuminated counter but no working parts. Good basic Pulse-shaped prop.

2: Airsoft Thompson with airsoft conversion. A few different types around, including G&P (which I have), MIM, and others. Working Pulse; trigger, safety, single/auto switch, mag release, cocking arm (is that the correct name?). Sliding GL pump.

3: Custom conversion. Often an Airsoft Thompson or similar but with much more accurate custom made metal parts. Includes the likes of Matsucorps.

4: De-ac. Real Thompson with real Remington 870, spascage, and custome metal parts and shrouds. All de-activated of course! Pretty much the ultimate in terms of authenticity, obviously the most expensive option by quite a large margin, also very heavy compared to the other options and may cause problems for conventions.

Well, I'm sure some of the more experienced guys will come on to add other points, or correct me if I've made any errors, but that's kind of my knowledge in a nutshell!!! :lol:

Good luck!

Phil.

You could add "Steel Dreams" to the list, as a source of armor.

I've never dealt with them, but I know they offer it.
