The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Or the Archives.

Bess Brown and Alternatives

Unfortunately Jesse DeGraff took down his Vision Forge Graphics website, so the pictures no longer exist. But the discussion is there.

Thanks, Kevin. I guess great minds think alike. :D

Fortunately, I've been able to keep these pics hosted for a little while longer... three views, same gun...

Like BB, it looks so different depending on lighting and background conditions.

stonedog7563: I had forgotten that you had received one of those ammo boxes. Thanks so much for the side-by-side. Separate digi pics and scanned color swatches are often difficult to trust.

I tried that a while ago - it was way too green. I'll see if I can find the mixed paint and do a side by side with real BB.

Brown bess on the right - left is the mix of forest green, scarlett, blue and white.

Like I said, way too much green. Which is a shame because I'm down to my last few drops of BB. I had just enough for this:

and a bit left over for some colour matching swatches.

The forest green (etc) mix is almost exactly the same colour as the Aoshima 1/72nd scale DS and APC though

The Aoshima is slightly glossier so the APC looks lighter under the camera flash but visually it's almost a perfect match - just not the same as BB.
