Alex, did you fabricate all those parts yourself, or did ya buy them from others?

I'm getting myself a plug firing cap version of a thompson soon, and I plan to convert it to a pulse rifle, and would like to use aluminum or steel parts, and I don't have any decent contacts in that arena.

I've got an idea that I would like to bounce off of the rest of you. One idea that came to mind when the old thread had almost reached its peak was a 2006 Pulse Rifle Calendar. Honestly, I've never seen one of those and it should not be too difficult to put together with the intense input of this board. When is Dragon Con, BTW?

WOWOWOWOW guys absolutely badass! I am heading towards starting my first M41A1, can any of you answer if I can use the Airsoft spring M1A1 THompson, or is there a reason to use the Marui specifically?

cause we said so LOL anyways the springer hs the cocking arm on top of the receaver where as the M1A1 has it on the side...ie just like the PR

There's several reasons for using the Marui, but the main one is that it's nearly 100% the same size/style as the real Thompsons used in the film.

The cheap one you see on eBay regularly is a variant of the M1928, which has several differences from the true M1A1, including...

- Larger size upper receiver
- Slightly different shape/placement pistol grip/lower receiver.
- Top mounted bolt handle.

If you're a skilled modeler, you can probably modify one to work, but it probably won't fire any longer.

Although it's more expensive, most airsoft Pulse Rifle builders go with the Tokyo Marui.

thank you, I found the right forum with someone already asking that very same question, may have to rething a bit, I don't necessary need it to fire, jsut want a nice looking one.


that and a Morita from Starship Troopers, that thing is impossible to find.

You could buy a resin M1A1 thompson from Matsuo instead. It would be a damn sight cheaper and lighter than a Marui M1A1 and it would look perfect being the correct model and his awesome casting skills. He casts in black no less!

You know what I was thinking that really gave me a giddy feeling? Imagine we took every members Pulse Rifle and piled them like fallen domino's like from the scene in Aliens where Frost pumps the GL and then puts it down with the rest.....now that would be amazing.

here's the MiM i am working on, experimenting around with gunmetal paint for all the metal parts so far, and a weather technique I like to thing of as used, by tossing the thing on the table, cocking it alot, and letting the under silver pop through.

The Spas cage is all cleaned up, but I need to hit it with flat black and rework the barrel and magazine, I dont like the dowle, and one is cut to short, so the loading port has a crappy gap.

where is a good joint to get to lengths of 1" aluminum rod?


you'll notice the bubbling on the selctor switches, anyone got a god idea to fix them? I am not sure just puttying would turn out well, I thought about chopping them off, drilling holes and inserting small pieces of metal rod.
