True, but be careful, it‘s a restored Smartgun and lots of parts are not original. There‘s a good description on their auction page about what is original and what parts were added later on though.

this lot is my favorite... it has some of the highest resolution images of the Stan Winston Alien tail you can find... I am building an Alien and I was just trying to find good images of the SW tail.... which don't exist anywhere else apparently.

I just wish Adam Savage would look at those props for his build reference. It might help avoid building below-average replicas with rare parts.

I don't know how one would "get one of his builds." It's clear from the Tested videos that the works he puts into his Aliens (and Ghostbusters) stuff is at or below average compared to what we "hobbyists" are able to make, even without access to rare found parts.

I'd agree w/ Forge.
In my personal opinion, he's overrated.
I'm certain nearly everyone on this board could build just as well, if not better... even more so with that kind of cash.

It'll be back up for auction soon enough. Most of this memorabilia goes to investors, not fans.

In this particular case, I can confirm that this isn't so - since I'm the one who was silly enough to pay that much for it. I don't intend to sell it, and instead am already in the process of building a large shrine to it. I will post photos here once it's done.
