The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi All not sure if this has been raised on other posts (Quick look and found none)
With the House of Mouse owning the ALIEN franchise will they allow us to troop etc as their characters, IP etc?
I know Disney have no problem with our Kin over at the 501st, but will it be the same with us lowly grunts?
I for one hope so and look forward to continuing this hobby not only for ourselves but also the charity work some divisions assist in around the globe.
Sound off below.

That was part of the reason behind consolidation of the clubs.

Typically the studios do not go after fan groups with the only exception being if a group is selling facsimile knock off merchandise. Otherwise the movie industry will typically leave such groups alone. They understand that fan groups help grow the community, not harm, and groups will tend to self police and remove problems or conflicts.

I got my armor before Disney bought Aliens Franchise. Was made by original propmaker or original stuff used in the movie, they had nothing to tell me .

They destroyed the STAR WARS universe and they might do the same with Aliens saga, so fu.. off Disney =)

Yeah, but if you're heavily into films and there's a particular film, or franchise, you truly love. You can't help but get a bit upset when a string of bad sequels come along.

Particularly if they've been churned out just to make a fast buck, disrespect the original source material, or they've crammed in a load of politically correct nonsense to pander to the PC crowd *cough* The Last Jedi *cough*.

It's regarded in the same way as rewriting the bible, or painting a moustache on the mona lisa.

I think the sentiment here is why IGN, IGN of all places, is releasing Alien fan films. Not fox, not Disney, but a Gaming magazine company.

This bodes very well for the future if Disney and Fox both are very nervous about causing a revolt in the fandom.

We are all very nervous and very excited about he changes unfolding and are all very concerned over the future of the franchise and how well any new releases improve the universe and its story (or at least me.)

I also have a suspicion that a follow up to aliens colonial marines is in the works as the PC world is still very active with AVP and Aliens/colonial marine gaming, but the consoles are sorely missing out.

Yeah IGN makes no sense.
I still play ACM, AI and AVP2010 on my xbox 360. Love those games.

And you said it perfectly. Fans are listening to IGN as the gaming side is very active in the aliens franchise. Perhaps they thought IGN was a harmless go between to try and test the waters?

Disney can't bungle the Alien franchise any worse than Fox has for the last few decades. Love or hate Alien3, it was the last legitimate entry in the series.
