The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I'm pretty sure the mic tip is supposed to be on the left side and it have only one ear piece.

The racal minilite comes apart...the ear pieces just clip on the headset, also the mike turns .....the only thing you would have to do is both ear pieces are wired into the box....should be easy to take apart and remove one ear piece....

You appear to have gotten hold of a stereo unit rather than a mono. Essentially I can see no difference. all you need to do is what Model Shop Guy said. The ones on screen were mono units to begin with but that doesnt mean yours won't be accurate after a couple of minor mods. :)

Cheers

yes as soon as you see one for real, you will ear/mic part clips on and ear piece can turn , as well the mic, so if its the right price ...buy it... it will be a 2 minute job to make it look correct...apart from painting it the right colour....

To the best of my knowledge, the parts are interchangeable.

Let's see some pics when done! 8)

One of those spares listed is a "clip and adapter" for connecting 2 ear pieces to the speaker switch box. It looks very similar to the one in your picture you just bought. So the mod you need to do could be as simple as disconnecting the left side ear piece. Assuming it's a plug and socket set up on the adapter.

Cheers

Yes. That is the correct one.

Just take off the second ear piece.
