The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

An exciting sneak peak at a creature (Alien? Deacon? Something new?) from Alien: Covenant.

Great coverage you're compiling over there at AVPG, Corp_Hicks.
Thanks for all the updates. I'm starting to warm up to feeling some excitement, once again.
I didn't think I would, after the last one!

Thanks man, I appreciate that. I'm still a little cautious myself but I'll be there opening night, no doubt.

Yes, I think most of us feel that way.
I won't be watching any trailers this time around. That way, if the film's no better than Prometheus then at least all the visuals will probably help me enjoy it more.
But I'll keep following the links you and Willie post. I can't turn a blind eye to it all. Where's the fun in that?!

And here's some pretty reassuring news: http://www.avpgalaxy.net/2016/07/12/no- ... -covenant/

"McBride goes on to say that he expected to be the “silly comic relief” but impression changed as soon as he saw the script. “Then I got the script and I’m like this shit is dark! There is no comic relief in this at all. This is a dark horror movie. And that was exciting. To be able to step into something like that and to participate in a way that not relying on things I’d done before.”"

Cool news. It was a great move when Cameron cast Paul Reiser against type and it looks like Ridley has something interesting up his sleeve as well.

Exactly my thoughts when he was cast. And Covenant has wrapped. http://www.avpgalaxy.net/2016/07/15/ali ... s-filming/

FYI the font on the patches is Neuropol.

I've used that font before a few years ago.

Looking forward to this!

I can't wait any longer to see that movie. I am really looking forward to it. I felt in love with the new patches. I am really curious If this film will feature the "retro futuristic design" of the first ALIEN film. I did not like the look of Premetheus cause the technique, electronics and computers were too modern - more modern than in the first ALIEN films.

I agree Obarkon. If you look at the bridge picture on the previous page I'd say they are back on track for the most part. There is stll a hint of Prometheus in there, but a lot of Nostromo too.

Escape pod or shuttle or something? Looks to carry that push button, NASA vibe of the bridge.I do agree with you both though. It'll be great to see something a little less flashy.

Fox had us pull them down. I reckon they're pretty on the mark.

I worked on Prometheus in SFX and built one of the 8wd rovers, I heard that reshoots are happening for covenant here in the U.K. At the moment

I built the pilots chair (telescope as we called it) for Prometheus. It was a lot smaller than the one from Alien but great fun to work on, I also worked on the piece of the engineers ship that crushes Vickers.

But my most enjoyable part was heading the team that built one of the 8wd rovers and I got to drive it on to set in Iceland every day and once flat out up the runway. It was a fantastic film to work on and Ridley notice the old Weyland Yutani sign from my office door at Alien War hanging over my bench. :-)
