The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

May I suggest the dremel cutting disk that is reinforced with fiberglass? It takes much more punishment than the thinner, non-reinforced disk...which shatter if you even look at them wrong.

Okay, ta. :)

well i decided to base coat the helmet with Humbrol matt 30 which i bought in a rattle can, this paint is CRAP  after a long shake of the tin i started spraying, after a very short period the paint starts to spit and splutter till it just doesn't come out the can any more, i kept wiping the nozzle, stuck a pin in the end but still no good.

I just about got a coat on the helmet but still have the lobster plates to do, theres about half a tin still left, any advice how to get it to work ???????

cheers

I think the problem may have more to do with the nozzle coming out of the can itself. I had the same problem, and tried switching out the spray tip with a clean one and I had the same problem.
If it is the nozzle coming ou tof the can, I don't know how you fix that. Certainly DON'T try cleaning that out with a pin!

You'll probably have to get a whole new can. :(

That's why I use a quality model air brush with the little tins from Humbrol for all my USCM painting. Just don't ask me to use it for a full size APC!

I'd suggest just painting the whole set by hand, as it would be more authentic.
But to each their own. Do whatever makes you happy. :)

I painted mine by hand and had no real problems.

The humbrol dries fairly evenly if it is mixed well.
