The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Easy, easy... As founder of the United Americas Colonial Marines, I am Squashed Spider's de facto CO... When parading or on sweeps, Lt Porkchop (aka VA2 ECM) is our platoon commander, not me.

This is not any kind of power hungry statement to say I am her CO, or anybody else's CO... I've always been happy to be a Colonial Marine, a loosely organized group with no actual need for a structured chain of command.

Merci beaucoup.

So if we tie up the Alien Queen and pull her behind an APC would that make her a Drag Queen?

This deployment is scheduled near Drag-On*Con, so why the hell not.

I'm 99.9% positive a full grown queen could easily pull the transaxel clean off an APC, so I doubt one would let itself be dragged anywhere.

Guys,

I don't know you all that well, but I know the nature of what you're heading into and its not pretty.

Its been said before, but can't be said enough; Keep your heads down, eyes open and weapons close.

Good luck, godspeed and report back in one piece!

OK. I'm getting confused now...maybe it's my tired state of mind...

Most people are refering to DCon, got that bit pretty early on :P

But there seem to be crossed wires around (or maybe it's just me),
so is anyone actually saying they are going to the sandbox for real?

I knew this was coming at some point ^_^

A while back, a request was sent out for the addresses of the people who were going to D'Con. We weren't told why, only that there was a "surprise" planned and it required your address. That "surprise" turned out to be a "official" Recall Notice from the United States Colonial Marines, signed and printed on letterhead, ordering the reader to report to Atlanta on D'Con weekend for active duty 8)

So, no. Nobody's goin' to Durka-Durka-Stan... we're just having some fun and continuing the joke that the letters started :)

Cool! :D

With all these comments of "come back safe..." and having mates gone over there recently too I didn't want to second guess. :D

It's cool- until I received my own Notice of Active Duty letter, I believe this thread was the real deal hook line and sinker.

But I wasn't kidding about being a day late.

Might have to go down a day early... Maybe this year I can actually try flying down.

Yeah, I got suckered in too at the start of the thread. Once I received my notice in the mail, I knew then exactly what was going on. Lots of fun.

I highly recommend it Sarge. I fly into Atlanta at 1220 on Friday.

Glad you all enjoyed the little giggle we had going on.

If anyone wants a copy of their active duty papers I can e-mail it to you, just drop me a PM.
Don't want people to be left out because they don't want to give out their home addy ;)
