The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Someone posted this on The Weyland-Yutani Bulletin. Apparently, taking the Facehugger off might also remove some paint.

It's not coming off without tearing his face off with it.

Yup. :)

She's heeeerrrrrreeeee! :D

Flickr album of pics:

https://flic.kr/s/aHsk6Xyhwf

After taking the pics I put her on her stand, but it took ages to get her stable on it, with lots of minute adjustments to various joints. :)

One pic from the album of her with the slightly smaller scale Aoshima(?) Power Loader, before the stand fitting:

Value is a personal thing.

On hearing how much I paid for her, someone might say "You paid HOW MUCH for a TOY?!" but they'd be more than happy to buy a ticket to a football match for the same amount, then see their team lose.

For me, it was worth every penny.

The back spines are a bastard to fit into their locking holes though. Some don't quite lock in, as they're made from fairly soft plastic, so the ball joint ends bend/flex rather than push all the way in.
I might just use a spot of superglue to fix them in.

regarding the spines, there is actually a ball joint within the base of the spines so when attached they have 2 ball joints that flex. When I realized that was the primary cause of the flex during installation, I had more faith in just jamming them in hard without worrying about the flex. They eventually popped in and have darn good poseability (to get them out of the way depending on head pose placement).

The neck of the ball joint end of the spines bends when I try to push them in on the right side of the Queen. The left side seemed to be fairly secure now.

Maybe sticking them in the freezer for a few hours might stiffen them up a bit?

Well, I went and installed a near 7 ft shelf in my basement to hold these dang things. It wasn't big enough! All I could fit was the "Aliens" Specific figures...

On the "old shelves" I have the Alien, Alien3 and predator franchise guys. I guess after series 4 and 5 I'll have to redecorate again! Maybe it wont be quite so slap-dash.

Thanks guys.

I actually had that shelf sitting in my shed for nearly a year. I took it down when I disassembled the "office" built by the previous owners. I finally figured out a good use for it.

I was never too hard on the McFarlane queen and never saw why so much hate was thrown its way. Sure it was an 'idealized' sculpt and wasn't "movie accurate" but I always liked it and it will always have a place on my shelf. That said, it's night and day. The new queen makes the old one look like the 10 year old figure it is. The articulation on the new one blows my mind and it looks like the actual puppet.

And have I mentioned it is huge? It's freakin huge!

Finally got a chance to meet Michael Biehn! I had to get him to sign the Neca 2 pack and my Hot Toys stand. He's a really nice guy in person!
