The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Does anyone have any experience with these guys? I have been trying to order Perma-wet from them and have not got very far.

They haven't charged my card, but they seem a bit farcical. They don't reply to email, and on the phone they make promises that never come true.

Have I just had a bad experience, or are they generally bad?

I know this is really OT, but atm it would just get lost in pointless Poll threads.

Wow, that's a bad experience. I buy from these guys all the time, and never have a problem.

I have no idea why it would be so hard to order suddenly.

Sorry.

I ordered from them just a month ago without problems.
But the items I ordered didn't come directly to me, I had them shipped to someone who was working on a piece for me, but the whole thing went off without a hitch.

If you have trouble with Monstermakers, try contacting Monsterroom, he sells permawet and is a great person to deal with.

A friend of mine on another board says they're cool. Have you sent them a reminder email?

I just sent them a (7th) reminder email, and got a response in about 20 minutes.

Quote:
My apologies. I should have made it clear that it could take a while. We are so focused on domestic orders that our European orders have to take a back seat. I will have one of our staff ship this out ASAP and get you a tracking number.

Meh. We'll see. I thought VISA automatically turned my (apparently worthless) UKĀ£ funny money into proper US$$$?

The order was both for me and Bri "THEBUGZ". I will need to consult with him to decide out how long we wait before I cancel. That's 3 months now ...

Hmmm... that's almost like they're saying "Because you're not American you're not important to us".

Of course what they should be saying is "You're a customer, therefore you're important to us".

Not cool.

Don't be silly, British people are very important to us!

Doctor Who, Hex, Gordon Ramsey, The Beckhams, Little Britain, Monty Python, James Bond... tea, crumpets, castles... Robin Hood, King Arthur...

Very important!

Nope sorry. I just meant "important to us" as a whole. Didn't mean to make it sound like I was a part of them.

No problem. Just to clarify when I said that message to Pug was "like they're saying "Because you're not American you're not important to us". I meant that's what Monster Makers seemed to be saying. I wasn't implying that I thought all Americans think that.

Is there anyone else who supplies Perma-wet other than Monster Makers? Seems to be quite hard to get hold of.

Bri :D

Call back and ask for Arnold. He runs the place, and I find it hard to believe that he doesn't care about International orders. That just all seems very odd.

Avoid the schlubs answering the phones, and try to talk to the head honcho directly. Should clear things up much faster.

I have cancelled my order.

That really sucks. I've ordered literally thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of gear from them for all the films I've worked on, and never had a problem. Though I haven't really ordered much from them recently, so maybe their services have suffered without me.

:(

They also hooked us on coffee before tea, in 17th C London, there were more coffee houses than there are Starbucks in Seattle
