The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hello All,
I have been holding off on my introduction until I received my armor from Spat. (A million thanks again Spat!)
My name is Alejandro and I live in Venice Beach CA.
I am a professional artist and part time high school teacher.
I also did some part time work on productions for the History Channel as a historical / military consultant.
I have been a reenactor and costumer for over 10 years now. I am also a huge Sci-Fi and comic book fan.
Costumes include a Boba Fett (WIP) and a Mad Max-Road Warrior costume.
I also have several reenacting impressions ranging from World War One to Vietnam.
I have been collecting militaria since I was a kid.
I first saw Aliens when it premiered on Cable in the 80s.
It scared the living daylights out of me but I was an instant fan and a big fan of anything relating to the Colonial Marines ever since.
Anyway I am looking forward to meeting you at an event some time soon.
Thanks
A-

Hi There

My name is Carrie and I've been a fan of Aliens since I saw it August 11, 1986. My goal is to get all of the cast autographs at the conventions before the 50th anniversary-LOL! I don't know if I'll ever be able to get Sigourney's since I hear she never goes to conventions, but one can hope..

Carrie

Hi all

'nother Brit signing in here :)

Lurked here for a while, just registered
Been an Xenomorph fan since seeing Aliens on a VHS that was doing the rounds at school, Alien 3 was the first 18 I saw (underage) at the pictures, still a good film (if only for the bit with the scissors).

About to take the plunge and get some armour, will be my first costume.

I collect plastic crack: Transformers, Hot Toys, and of course NECA :)

Cheers,
Doug

Hello
My name is Alex (Kotus) of Spain am a member of the 501st Legion Spanish Garrison but I've always wanted to be a colonial marine and hunt bugs because "EL RIESGO SIEMPRE VIVE". It's funny when I was little I was terrified of aliens and now fascinates me.
I saw your pictures and they are amazing

I have some doubts about that armor and pulse rifle choose. I hope you can help me, but after looking and researching much more or less what is available.
I would like to form a colonial marines corps :delta: in Spain since by now I do not have.
Well, as we say in my country "ADIOS MUCHACHOS" XDD
Many greetings to all.

And remember do not shoot the fucking atmospheric processor

Sorry for the English but I use the translator

Hello everyone.

My name is Lisa.
I did not really watch past the first hour of the first film because I was not good at scary films and it scared me!

I knew that I was missing something iconic and that everyone was talking about them.

A lovely friend re-introduced me to the aliens film at an open air summer viewing in the sound studio of pinewood studios, the original sound stage where the film was made.
I met a bunch if great people and was hooked.

Have been getting the kit together and now want to move fast.

That's me for now.

Lisa

My names Keith, Ive been an Aliens fan for quite some time but was always a heavily into the Colonial Marines in the second film. In my opinion it was the best of the lot. I currently live in Nantwich in the UK with my partner and two cats.

Other than that Im looking to getting started and getting more into this hobby which I had no idea existed until 3 days ago. So any tips on equipment, uniform and where I can get this all from is greatly appreciated. Hobbies, well Im a keen airsoft player so Im used to running about with a lot of equipment. That was probably influenced by spending some time in the Army and Royal Marine Reserve.

With any luck, I might be seeing you on the ready line in the future!

Cheers

Keith

Welcome to the forums, Keith!
In short, as far as gear goes, Spat is a one-stop shop for most of it, but has a long (Worth-the-)wait period for certain pieces.
Also, Customs :(

Chef is in the UK, and does really good armour too - Obviously, it doesn't get any better than Terry English, but you can add a 0 to the pricetag if you want a set by him!

What sites you skirmish at?

Hey all, Lawrence from the US, California namely. Been a huge fan of Aliens ever since I watched the movie as a kid in '86. Ha, in actuality when I watched it in the theater I was absolutely terrified. Soon after though, the movie grew on me, especially the USCM parts of the movie.

I'm a huge model hobbyist, and have been collecting Aliens model kits for 20+ years. You name it, I probably have it. Until just recently I have finally been able to start plugging away on the collection. In fact, I just posted my AEF Designs USCM collection I just finished last week here on 'The Ready Line' thread.

Over the years it seemed like everytime I search for movie references or pics, it directs me to this site. So I guess I'm one of those 'long time listener, first time caller' sorts. Seems like lots of good people over here, definitely a lot of helpful Aliens fans.

Anyways, good to be here, and I hope to share more finished projects here with you all!

Lawrence

Hey Scapey...
Sites, well mainly SWAT in Liverpool and Trojan Airsoft. But I do the annual Ground Zero pilgrimage once a year at the end of August.

Does Chef have a webpage?

Cheers

Keith

Hey everyone,

My name is Jeremy and I'm from Florida. I've been a huge fan of the Alien franchise ever since I saw them when I was younger.

Besides Alien, I love most Sci-fi related movies and games. I'm a member of a Ghostbusters costuming group and I've been wanting to branch off and do some other movie costumes for a long time and I figured I'd go with some Colonial Marine armor.

I'm sure I'll have lots of questions, so hopefully I don't get on any ones nerves. :)

Hello marines! I'm Mike from Jacksonville Florida. I've been a fan of the USCMC for a long time and I'm finally getting the chance to get my gear together. I'm also a big costumer in general; Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, Mandalorian Soldier, and Duke from GI Joe. I'm hoping to meet some local costumers and the colonial marine community as a whole.
OORAH!

Nice to see another Floridian join, doesn't hurt that you're a Ghostbuster either. I'm not exactly local, but might bump into you at some cons.
