The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi! Just thought I'd share a shot of my custom Apone figure WIP. Windrix body, hicks 2pack helmet with un-sculpted headband, expendables 2 Hale Ceaser head with shaved beard and custom webbing made from hicks and Hudson webbing elements.

More soon :)

Awesome start! I debated if I would try and remove the helmet band on my Ski figure but I got lazy. I see you are not taking any shortcuts and well done.

Thanks! Your figures have been great inspiration. I think I may try and mould the helmet to save me buying 2packs each time :)

Bit more work done today. Started to paint over the graffiti, added a dark wash to the hands, base coated the helmet and added his boots. Also added another 2 pop guns to the webbing after discovering Apone has 4 in total.

Looks good mate, can't wait to see the finished article

If you cast the helmet and want to make some money back for materials am sure I won't be the only one who'd want to help you :)

Cheers,
Doug

Wow, nailed it! Even sculpted his extra pad/wrap on the sling. The Apone-build bar is officially set pretty dang high!

Thanks! Yeah i did go a little crazy with the details but think they help the realism at this scale.

I was trying to sculpt a VP holster and binoculars the other day for my own Neca build. Not exactly easy! You'll need both of these for Apone I reckon.

Binoculars! I KNEW I was forgetting something.

I sculpted the VP70 holster today, just got to sand it a little and refine the squares tomorrow then mould it up so i can cast copies for Frost, Crowe and Dietrich too. Very happy with how its looking, might even cast it in hard rubber to match the NECA style.

Nick, how did you do the name stencil?

I'd cinch up that chin strap right onto his chin too, he was serious about not losing his helmet!

The stencils were painted on freehand, took a few attempts :)

I was thinking about making a new chinstrap but don't want to replace too many of the stock parts, I still want them to look like NECA items.

I see your point. This way you can still take the helmet off too. Amazing job on the name, I thoought it might havve been a water slide decal.
