The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Sigourney rarely gives permission for her likeness, so don't hold your breath.

More news:

Very likely

Well in pure speculation "almost-news"...

I guy on the 'sideshow freaks' said a guy on 'asylum' said that he "gleaned" from context when talking to Randy Falk (neca's dude) at their table @ToyFair that Ripley's likeness IS SECURED!

...but they arent ready to "officially" announce anything yet or show a figure. Supposedly Ripley will be in series 4 this year. Several Ripley's are planned, but a "a few" versions of 1979 Ripley's will start things off. The 'Aliens' version of Ripley may be series 5 or later.

(Or so goes things based on what a guy said that some other guy said who claimed he talked to the Neca guy)

Would be very nice to get a Ripley to pilot the power loader, only thing that worries me is the hair.
That bubble perm has the potential to look awful in the small scale, hopefully NECA can do better than CO managed with River Song's hair in the Doctor Who line...

Looking forward to Half-Bishop too, first thing my son suggested when he saw the Bishop figure was that there should be a torn in half version :)

Cheers,
Doug

Oh I am aware of the Sigourney likeness issue Steve, but we HAVE to have a Ripley...one way or another!

And I have to say...I remember back in the day when McFarlane toys got the license to make Aliens figures. Man how I dreamed of how cool those figures were going to be, all the possible features, accessories and characters.

And what a disappointment that whole line was aside from the Aliens warrior.

With all the "power" in his hands at the time, how did it go so badly?
NECA is doing what McFarlane should have done all those years ago, and they are doing it better.

Ripley is supposedly official. As is timelines for release of Queen and powerloader. Neca gave entertainment weekly the scoop or something... trying to find direct link to news as only second hand quote is available.

Edited 2nd time. Found this:
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases ... 04381.html

Under Alien 35th anniversary. Not sure how this source jives with previous reports as to who had been given the scoop to break the news. Also odd they claim the Queen (not yet finished being sculpted due to tragedy in Windrix family) is supposed to be released before the powerloader (which is supposedly read to roll).

The "body/roll cage" on the powerloader is too wide, hope they slim that down.

Steve I think you bought the "EGG" lots I gave to the Charity auction back in 07 didn't you?

Also sorry to hear of Craig's passing who Sgt Windrix is based on.

Yesterday at the Newcastle show picked up one of the Windrix figures. As I mainly do 1/18th scale and 1/6th customising I don't need a new scale LOL

Alas I was impressed with the figure. Great articulation but already seen I can improve that with arms and more. Which I plan.

So just placed an order for several more for doing customs :D

So last night stripped the Rubber armour off the figure. Have already started making cloth webbing with working Buckles for the belt and buckle attach on the shoulders. Stripped the straps off the Tracker and again making cloth slings.

Making some RASCALs as I have done several for friends at 1/6th so easy peasy job.

Some questions.

Does anyone cast:-
Pulse rifles?
Helmets?
Shoulder Lamps?

Started work on designing the Smart gun rig & of course Smart gun itself for a custom figure. May do Drake or just go for a new Marine.
After the 1/18th HOT TOYS & Custom film seen 1/18th MARINES I made, larger scale will be fun.

Currently buying up various brands of figures at 7" for their head sculpts & Body parts.

Going through the thread some great customs already and look forward to adding some of my own.
Shame they got the BDU colours wrong but easy paint job fix if your doing the film characters.

There he is!!!

I was a big fan of your snap-kit customs and 1/6th stuff I stumble across. I can't wait to see what you can crank out for these Neca figures!
