The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Does anyone know if there's any chance of Hot Toys doing another run of the first set (Apone, Hicks, Vasquez) of figures?

I balked at the price and then missed out completely... and about had a coronary after seeing what scalpers are attempting to sell 'em for on ePay.

I've heard rumours but is it likely? Probably not I'd say.

I contacted Hot Toys directly via their website not long ago asking this very question.

They replied very quickly stating the had no plans to re-issue the first wave figures unfortunately.

ebay is your best bet or you can keep an eye out on dedicated sixthscale forums for private sales, though any Hicks figure would sell quickly. I was lucky to get my Hicks and for a good price too.

Define "scalping"?

I've assumed they're normally about $90-$100ish. But if they're cheaper than that...

Try www.monkeydepot.com They have a Hudson and Drake still in stock.

Cheaper? BWAHAHJAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Try $200-$300 for Hicks or Apone!

I just picked up a set from a seller of Ripley (solo), Hudson and Drake for under $300 shipped. Came out to about $85 per figure.

Wish I'd justified getting them when first released. I just wasn't impressed with Wesley Snipes impression of Apone. ;)

•ONEYE• is that your eBay auction?

If it's not then you'll have to remove the link I'm afraid. It's a rule here that we don't allow posting of live auction links unless they're your own.

Cheers,

Harry

Russ, there is a better headsculpt out there for the Apone figure, and it's even sculpted so it will fit on the HT body.

I buy the individual parts myself on eBay or through monkeydepot. Just to make my own guys.

Then again, I've got 4 or 5 custom guys using the old school Hasbro marine armor from a few years back

But after you shell out for all the parts, the cost ends up being about as much as a complete figure! Have you seen lately how much they're hosing people for the Marine armor? About $30 or more, and usually that doesn't include helmet!

$30? More like $55 to $80!!

You are better off just buying a complete figure than rather buying in parts because you'd still need to fork out alot for the weapons and accessories, costing you alot more in the end.

I used the old school "Cpl Hicks vs Aliens" figure set to make a custom figure as well (using a 21st Century soldier body).

Image

It was ok.

There are several thing just not right about the Hasbro armour:

-First off, it's simply a repaint of a 12" G.I. Joe Major Bludd figure:

Image

Second- why would they put a smartgunner's headcam on the helmet?

Third- everything else.

At least the pulse rifle and motion tracker were fairly well done for cheapo.

I sold it many moons ago.

I have 4 sets of the Hasbro marine armor. I put mine on good Joe bodies and Dragon/BBi bodies, much better than 21st century.

don't forget that they came with a same scale Xeno... and a hand welder.

Also remember that while the Marine was supposed to be Hicks, the armor has Hudson's "skull knife head" insignia on it.

Hey Steve, do you have any updates on your Hudson and Hicks headsculpts for these figures? I am desperate to swap out my Hicks head.

As for the "Louis" mistake on Hudsons armor, I just sit the armor so that the left shoulder eppulate comes over the writing, covering the last few words so you're non the wiser lol

You're kidding!
I thought that the "e" WAS just hidden!

Hudson wouldn't be happy!

Unless, of course... He would.

I can see it now - He walks into the Blue Oyster Bar, yelling "Come get some! You want some of this? Huh? You too?"
