The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi there,
My name's Lesley & I was 'adopted' by some of the UKCM at last LFCC (I was in costume, it wasn't Aliens related costume, but I'm working on that!)

I'm a big fan of the sci fi & fantasy genres in general, film & books. Obviously, I love the Alien films (well, 1-3...not such a fan of Resurrection, but to each their own). I also love the whole 40s/50s rockabilly thing, hence the username *It's a nickname from one of the Marines & I like the retro pin up feel* 8)

Welcome Lesley :D Nice to know our guys had an impact at LFCC - hope to see you at the next one!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Andrew, and I am new to Colonial Marine cosplaying. After my armor set made its debut at a local convention here in South Carolina, I was found by Scapey (in the UKCM) and his girlfriend. They recommended me here and I just made a profile.

I have been a fan of the Alien series ever since I was in diapers. Hicks, Hudson and Vasquez were my heroes growing up. I've always wanted to be a Colonial Marine. I have browsed through the Spatcave store multiple times, and as much as I would have loved to purchase one of his armor sets, I just didn't have the money.

I decided to make my own armor not long after my very first convention back in April (I was a TIE Fighter Pilot there)... and then when I found my name on one of the lockers inside the USS Sephora's locker room in Aliens: Colonial Marines. It said "PFC A. DAVIS" on it. When I saw that, I just knew I had to become a Colonial Marine, one way or another...

I look forward to meeting y'all and making new friends!

This is the screenshot from "Aliens: Colonial Marines" which was the final push for me to make my own armor

Building my helmet now, have Spat armor in his queue.

I'm a rarely-active member of the 501st (TK1911), have full Indiana Jones gear, and been involved in military reenacting for 15 years--Mostly 20th century (WWI, WWII, Nam) but also US Civil War and Victorian small wars from time to time.

Quite the site, here! Love all the info, and hope to meet up with some of you at Emerald City CC.

Hi everyone,

My name's Shawn and I've made a few costume and prop replicas here and there. You can see some of my builds in my blog at http://protagonist4hire.blogspot.com/p/ ... folio.html

I've had a xenomorph and a handful of USCM Marines on my to-do list for a while. Sooner or later I'll actually get around to making forming bucks so I can crank out some armor.

Greetings! I've been lurking a while, but it's finally time to post and get my build going. My wife bought me a Matrix PR for my birthday, so my CM is officially started! I've been wanting to do this costume for ages. I've already got plans to mount a strap and replace the shotgun shell with a M40, then mount the bottom of the clip to the actual clip so the whole thing so it slides in and out correctly.

I also have a Mando with the Mandalorian Mercs so I'm no stranger to building my own stuff. I'm hoping those same skills will help me make my own armor so I'll only have to pick up a set of BDUs and the accessories to go with it. Aliens has always been my favorite movie, so it's about time I got around to this.

Welcome newjoiners!

Hi Emma,

Glad you joined.
Better? It’ was already perfect.
Only the M240 and the tube was missing and we fixed that for the shooting and the parade.

Hello Everyone! I've enjoyed the Aliens series since I first saw the movie many moons ago, I've played all three AVP games (which were better than the movies) and recently played Aliens Colonial Marines. I recently saw a guy who was reviewing the game on YouTube that goes by the name 'Angry Joe'. He ripped on the game pretty hard (while having it's flaws, I found it to be enjoyable) but I noticed he was wearing a Colonial Marine costume and I was surprised, I had heard of costuming and Comic con type events and after some more poking around Youtube saw the colony sweeps which I enjoyed greatly as well as seeing this cool fan film http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4w6rtvid6I which showed a lot of love for the movie. While I have no plans to go to any 'combat drops' for now, I have built up a small collection of Aliens stuff and plan to get some armor next year for some cool photos. Let the games begin! 8) :delta:

New guy here. I'm a member of the Mandalorian Mercs and have ordered my Marine armor. Really looking forward to suiting up and hunting some xeno's with my fellow Marines.
