The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So a few folk have already asked what the plans are for those unable to get to the UKCM Southern Xmas Party... Simple answer is, no plans yet!
Lorelei is looking into flights, and I'd like whatever we do to include her, obviously, so who would be up for something between December 28th and 30th?
Dinner someplace delicious? Could maybe see what Geek Retreat in Glasgow have planned for the festive season, too... Any other suggestions?

How about something between Dec 30th and Jan 1st? Or is that not festive enough? :)

The main problem with that would be train/plane schedules and prices I guess.

Exeter airport is only 5 mins from the Golden Pond.. and you guys must be racking up the Airmiles :)
I would come up north but the combination of Braveheart, Doomsday and the Proclaimers has put me off, as well as my allergic reaction to polar bears and Lulu.

We've been breeding hypoallergenic Polar Bears... But yeah, thanks for the offer but we're all broke after D*Con. S'hard enough to get down to Tynecastle for Scream-Con!

Tentatively I'll be arriving on the 28th or 29th, so if it happens to be on whatever day I arrive, apologies if I fall asleep at the shindig or if I'm extremely loopy.

I'll likely be working the 30th and 31st.
My only day off after Christmas I can guarantee will be new years day.

But I cannot apply, thus cannot confirm, festive holidays yet. They are locked out until upper management sees fit to release them.

One thing I can say is I have family gathering for Christmas, so I'll be aiming for the week the 24th and 25th fall on for holidays.
Company policy does not allow anyone to have Christmas and New Year weeks off. You can one or the other, not both. (And no, taking only a day or so either side isn't allowed either. Tried that).

In short, I'm 80% sure I'm gonna miss it again.

If I were going, I would have suggested Kubla Khans for the meal. Outstanding place.

What place is Khan's? I don't think we went there, unless that's the Brazilian steakhouse

Sadly, no. But I see what you're getting at.
Remember though, with the tentative dates, I can't make this.

So even if I did have a TWOK costume.... bummer :(
