The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Gunner down and clear. Another great drop to watch aliens on the big screen in with the UKCM, well worth the long drive. I'm still laughing about one of the food venders thinking that pinewood had given us film props to wear for the event  It was nice to see all those from LFCC again and also meet some new friends. Hope to see everyone again soon. :D

Best two asked of me were
"Are you actors from the film?" :D
and
"Are you a fan?"
To which I wanted to reply "Nah, I always dress like this." 8)

A big thanks must go to Luna for not only telling everyone several times over the PA system about us attending and to get photos, but even an on screen thanks before the film began. :D

Steve down and clear! That was good fun; pretty cool to be the only ones dressed up, and the crowd were loving it.

Awesome to see you all as ever, was almost disappointed when the movie started and we had to stop larking about!

Yes but thats the Hanger, what about Hadleys? would they have used the same stage? bearing in mind it would have taken awhile to decontruct the hanger then build the colony, anyways wether or not they used that stage just watching the film in that studio was cool and its a shame more people could not make it

Isn't there a clip of Mr Cameron entering the stage on the blu-ray?
A type of "You can't come in here, closed set" joke. I might show the stage name.

I wish I could of gone, must of been rather fun :)

Winch Down and Clear!

Great Drop with great company as Kris said those who couldn't come were missed and missed out too!

A big thank you to Kris and Gunner for kit loan and Gareth for the Cooler full of Diet Coke! ;-)

I have to echo Steve's thanks to George from Luna for the regular Shout outs to the UKCM and the Thank You Screen on pre-amble to the film!

I wonder if we can persuade them to do it again with a little more Marine involvement? Maybe for the 30th Anniversary in 2016?

Matt and Kim down and clear.

So glad we made the decision to come out. Really good to take our minds of things for a while. The first time i've ever seen Aliens on the big screen, and the first time with such good friends. I actually felt like it was the first time i'd seen it!

Felt really appreciated, as Winch has said, with the shout-outs and the thank-you on the screen - I have to tell you, that one made my night.

And as a more happier ending to the night, when we got home we opened the door to a very hungry and sorry-looking little girl cat, who, it transpires, had spent the last 36 hours in a neighbours garage. Thank you all for the kind words and extra hugs - they were much needed and appreciated.

The lucky penny helped!

I did some digging. As far as I can see D stage was only used for the internal cargo bay set plus a few more bits were filmed in it such as the Dropship internal scenes, the sections where Ripley straps into the Powerloader and some-pick up and insert shots.

The colony set was built on K ('ext colony complex - facing North') and E stages ('int colony complex control block'). The external colony complex was built on G stage, as was the external atmosphere processor station and landing field set & Jorden Tractor model shots. G was also where the medical centre atrium was shot (where Burke shows Ripley the photo of her daughter).

I'd love to put together a diary of what was shot where and when back in 1985, but I'm pretty sure I'd be the only one who'd be interested in it LOL!

Harry

When was that taken, as the sound stage was a bit dark for that?
