The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Only bad thing its about 1000 degrees in there lately.

While i wait for more silicone to arrive so i can continue moulding the remaining parts,i gave the screen a test fit in the frame. It still magnifies!

Also the screen and keypad decals are in production too :)

Great work.
That the screens still mangifies is great!
What do you plan to put behind the Hama Dia Viewer screen?
Any decent electronics or a cheap movie/mp3 player?

Thanks! Since i am an electronics dunce ill only putting a printed decal (supplied) behind the screen on my tracker but there'll be plenty of room inside for anyone wanting to install a working screen in theirs.

First cast of the viewer body pulled! Few bubbles here and there but nothing that can't be worked out in future pulls :)

Thanks! Its actually a cast from an accurate dial from a trap from the second ghostbusters movie. I realised the similarity after seeing the sdcc photos.

Haha, not much longer i promise :)

Few more bits done today...

Outer mould made for the main rear section. The plug for this is also curing as i type this.

Image

Ive also decided to have the screen mesh part of the mould/casts as this lower portion of the front will be solid and will be very difficult to hollow once cast. I cut the mesh to size, superglued it in place and filled all the undercuts with milliput.

More soon :)

Great progress.
I like the idea to use the dial from a trap from the second ghostbusters movie and the way you handled the mesh.

Thanks Frank! Im thinking with a black basecoat and subtle drybrush of silver or brown the mesh will look just as nice as the real stuff without the hassle of cutting out the "windows" (which can still be done if the builder really wants to).

The kit will consist of 15 resin parts, 2 vinyl labels and brass rods.

Resin parts will be available individually.
