The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well i figured instead of posting in so many threads i will start this one for everyone to see what i find at SDCC Aliens stuff.
To start out i was at Dark Horse booth today to get a Pin and the guy liked my CM armour so i joked with him about needed to do Aliens comics again. He said that it is in the works so lets hope to see something soon. Next we have atleast 3-4 nice statues coming out. Square Enix is making the Lurker and the Spitter which are very nice in the prototypes. Next are the Neca lines which i already posted, then a group Tamashii Nations i think it was is doing an AvP line and have a Smooth Head Xeno and Scar Predator. and last i saw a Mini Mights size Aliens set with 2 xeno's and Ripley with weapons sadly they say no pix of those but i will try to sneak one tomorrow. I also will be getting Pix of a Screen used MT so cant wait for that. And on a high note i walked by 7.62 shirts booth and they wanted to see my PR. so i let them and took pix for them, i walk by again to show the wife the new USCM shirt they have and one of the guys asked me what size and gave me it for letting them use my Gun.But as the Con keeps going i will post what i find, i might hound Sideshow about doing CM's 1:6 again lol......

It's interesting that this Tracker (from SDCC) seems to have a huge rear dial whereas other ones I've seen photos of have a much smaller one. Also the SDCC Tracker appears to have what looks very much like a mini-jack socket on the rear plate above the dial, again I don't think this appears on any others.

I have scoured the net far and wide to try and find the picture I saw one time, and foolishly didnt save. It was supposed to be the functioning screen hero tracker but it had a really long and extended back end of the viewer.

I had even read the shots with live 'dots' were tight shots from the front to mask how physically long the functional viewer was. The SDCC tracker's viewer doesnt mesh with that story at all. But, I can't find that story/description or that picture...so go figure. Who knows?

(not me, thats for sure).

Nick and I were talking about that earlier, as he'd seen the others too, so we guessed each had been made with some parts as found items from the prop maker's bits box. :)

How many were there? Is that common knowledge? Or a confirmed number?

If you watch the film closely during scenes involving close-up shots of the trackers you can see just that, the person holding it moves it just off of centre to the camera lens and you can see what's either a whole mini-TV (unlikely back then due to the size of even miniature TVs) or more likely the CRT from a mini TV.

Hard to see in a still image of course but you can see it just below the screen box in this image.

That's very likely. I know Terry Reed had to have the Tracker props made and ready on set over a weekend so it's fair to say there'd be some differences. Let's face it every single Pulse Rifle is very slightly different so there's no reason why these wouldn't be either.

FF to 3:25 to hear about the MT and a brief look at it:

Shame they didn't pick it up so we could see all of it, but I guess with all the wires it'd be difficult. :|

I wasn't having a pop at you, just guessing that it'd be difficult to lift up due to the wires between the main TV innards body and the screen tube/viewer box. :?

i wasnt talking about you PVB i was just saying that they said i could get close up pix for all of us. but just never could due to the amount of people and then when it would die down they we flake it seemed which pissed me off.i mena i understand the damn thing they want $45k for it but still you take it out for others and then let people hold the props to record(AND NOT JUST THE WEBSITES RECORDING I SAW THEM TAKE OUT A CRITTER FOR SOMEONE.) but yet a prop builder cant get any love it seemed.

Okay, no worries.

Maybe they'll post better/more pics on their site once it gets its own page?

Nope.

Looking at their other Play Arts Kai figures:

http://www.square-enix-shop.com/uk/

they're all around 210mm high, making the Square Enix xenos at about the same size as the recent Neca xenos.
