The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Still not impressed with the Hicks sculpts.

I dunno, that looks almost spot on for the "Get on the goddamn door!" scene. Or maybe falling on his ass after spotting the bugs in the ceiling,:delta:

That was my gripe with that sculpt. I wish they had done his yelling face without the helmet (and ideally with a racal that they ignored completely) and done the cool, calm, collected, shotgun sheath wearing hicks with the helmet (as he appeared early in the film). But its nothing a warm razor blade can't rectify.

Hahahahah DSB that's fantastic!

I wish some company sold the diorama backs too...I find the figures look good on their own, but look GREAT in a background environment.

Rumor updates...(paraphrasing twitter developments, 3rd hand info, so don't hold me to it!)
But the latest is good news and bad news! (if your me anyways, its bad).

Good - Randy with Neca is talking about options in series 5! (series 2 isnt even out yet, so that looks good for the long term plans of more figures)

Bad - Those options include "Kenner" era tribute figures... (much like they did with the latest Predator series)

Good - Randy has publicly said he is doing "everything he can" to make Ripley happen and series 3 just might include Dallas and Kane figures. Also in the works is the Alien3 WY Commandos.

Bad - All this is being lumped into one 'line'. That is to say as whole, you will get max 3 figures per series. Maybe 3 series per year. You know they love to shoe-horn in "repaints" and "minor sculpt variants" for the same figure to mix in with 'new releases'. So you gotta figure we are 2 years away from even TALKING about new screen character Marines...

So has it been confirmed that the helmets on the marines in the two-packs will be removable?

I think they are non-removeable.

100% NON-removable. I love Neca figures based on the quality for price, and the fact they seem to honestly listen to what the people want and try to deliver figures that are in demand.

I despise their nickle and dime ways with the 'variants' (often very minor) and repainted version releases they call "new figures". From the minute I saw hicks with no helmet and no racal headset my first thought was "well, this is the first of at least 3 hicks figures..."

But they are a business and I know they have to make money. If buying their variants helps keep the profitable so that actual new figures will continue to be made, I'll be a good little sheep and fall in line. At least with the aliens line. I lost track of their predator and terminator shinanigans long ago!

If it isn't removable then does the Hudson helmet at least have a cover on it? I can't tell from the photo.

It looked to me like it didn't when I saw the SDCC photos, but someone on another forum argued that it was on there, just painted the 'wrong' color (armor camo). The photos here of the packaged product look more like the neca version of the BDU camo to me. May not know for sure for 2 more months...
