The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Yo peeps,

First off, I had no idea which section to put this in so if it should go in the off-topic bit then please move it :)

A few of you will remember me asking whether or not to give my guitar an Aliens paint job (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11033)

Well I've finally taken the plunge, stripped the guitar of it's neck and hardware, sanded it and started the paint work.
I've also decided to not go with 'Louise' but use my girlfriend's name Kirsty, as to not offend certain parties... ;)

I've chosen not to go with the SA 63 Sand colour as it's far too bright for my taste so I've opted for 93 Flesh (?) (mainly as it was the only colour I had that was similar!)

Anyway, here's the pics as it is:

Added the brown and black/green (had to mix it myself, doesn't look too bad :))

A KISS style flamethrower would be pretty badass! :D

Sadly it would get you a mandatory prison sentence as, last time I checked, flamethrowers were classified as a Section 5 Firearm!

Following thread with interest!

You play left-handed? Useful trait, that.

Hey I just don't want to see you jamming with it in an 8 x 6 cell! ;-)

Have you thought of having some face huggers fingers coming around the edges like there is one either lurking behind the guitar or even face-raping the back of your guitar? A bit like the case for the old VHS Collectors edition set?

And how about a custom guitar strap with some M40's in loops on it? ;-)

Thanks, follow away!
It's a hinderance when you want an Explorer, can't get a cheap one anywhere :(

Winch: Not a bad idea mate, but I wanted this to be purely USCM based. If I can get a second guitar I'll definetly do your idea, good thinking :)
The strap I have for it is camo but I might try adding some loops and maybe some nades if I can make some. Top ideas Alan :)

I painted the green on today, I started with the SA Humbrol 30 but it looked too bright against the sand so I went with Revell 63. (pics to follow)

QUESTION:
As I'm not going with 'Louise' but 'Kirsty', where do I tie the knot???
I was thinking of giving the K a pronounced flick an painting the knot onto that, do you guys have any better ideas?

Moving along nicely on this, I've added the white parts:

And started weathering and applying the graffiti. The white paint I'm using for the graffiti is really thin, in the pic its on its 3rd coat (hence sloppyness but that will be touched up later), should be ok after another 2 coats:

Cheers guys! I'm pretty pleased with it :)

I've basically finished the paintwork now, just have to wait a few days for the paint to fully cure before I put on the varnish:

Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated :)

Well she's all finished, admittedly it needs a wet sand and a buffing but I haven't got the money to get the gear needed for that so here it is:
On a side note, if anyone happens to have a set of EMG's going spare then you will require my address :)
