The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well, Aren't I just spoiled rotten?

I was about to go to the city for a doctors appointment to get another tube put in my ear, so I wasn't deaf anymore haha. A few days before the trip, one of my brothers, my oldest, Alex was teasing me. He told me he got me something because he thinks I am awesome and he loves me so much. (I'm not bragging, I am stumped at why he thinks I am awesome, although I kinda figured he loves me haha) He said when he saw it he had to get it for me. He wouldn't say what it was at first. All he would tell me was "its a collector item". The next day he was itching to just tell me. My sister in law stopped him haha. She wouldn't let him ruin the surprise. We continued a guessing game through text messages.

I asked him "Is it Aliens related?" and right away he answered back "Nope!" haha. This kind of solidified my suspiscion that it was in fact, Aliens related. When he said it was a collectors item was the first clue. Also, knowing him I figured it had to be pretty expensive. The next night we were Facetiming on our iPhones when he asked to see my shelf and my desk. I heard a little "Hmmmm" from him like he was thinking, so I knew it had to be something fairly sizable, and a display of some sort.

I asked the next question... "Is it black, or brown? or both black and brown?". Again, "Nope!!". That time I actually believed him, so I was really stumped!

I gave up guessing, but every once in awhile I'd tell him to just tell me and I would act surprised infront of my sister-in-law so she didn't know he spilled the beans. He wouldn't devulge.

Just to tease me, he phoned me on the way there and was like "Call me when you get to the city and I will give you this thing, Colleen doesn't like it, its sh***ing all over the house, stinking up the place, growling at us!" hahaha

We got to the city and met him at Walmart, he was so excited he waved us over to the back of his car and popped the trunk, and there he was, in a big box that read "Sideshow Collectibles ALIENS" with a green and black picture of the Alien from ALIEN, also known as Big Chap. Alex carried it to the back of our van. and we went into the store. It wasn't long when Alex had to go, but after he left, he kept texting me "Call me when you get out to the van!" haha. We got out there in the dark and I saw it standing between the 2 front seats, and it looked really neat with the shimmer of the parking lot lights highlighting it, really creepy!

We carefully disassembled it and wrapped it in a blanket and seatbelted it into the back seat of the van. When we got home last night, I had Mom reassemble it and display it proudly on my shelf, in a strategic corner of my room, because when I set up my new lamp I got at Walmart, the light will hit it just right, it will be highlighted nicely in the dark corner it stands high up in.

I decided to look it up online, since it was my first statue and I almost died when I saw the price... $799.00 and a big bold SOLD OUT written on the Sideshow website, and I recalled Alex saying that they only made 1250 of them, which was also written on the description. I also had to laugh as I remembered Alex saying "all the nerds were really jealous when I walked out with that thing!, OH!, and there was like, this huge, HUGE Queen head statue, but it was like $2,500.00... I love you but not THAT much!!" haha. When he said that, I had no idea that this statue was even close to $799.00!, I thought maybe like, $300-ish, and thats totally NOT my opinion of the quality of it, its just I am unfamiliar with items like this, and I was thinking that would be VERY extremely generous for a gift, so I was blown away and felt a little bad when I learned the REAL price!.

His birthday is coming up so I have to think of something as sentimentally awesome as this big bastard! haha

I have named him Alex, seemed fitting, since it is now very sentimental to me, and bonus, he has a smooth shiney head like my brother! (We always tease Alex about being bald, but he is actually one of those guys that look good bald haha)

Way to go, Moosh!!! Very nice present indeed!   Obviously your brother is not only generous but also cares a great deal for you!

I managed to snag one before Sideshow sold out of them about 5 years ago (got mine in '09). It was a bit pricey but well worth it. :D

Btw, if you'd like your xeno to stay in the best condition possible, I'd suggest either keeping inside a glass cabinet or buying a glass or plexiglass doll case large enough to house it comfortably. That'll help keep it dust free. It's not very hard to clean, but the paint they use on their xeno figures can rub off, so they should be handled with care. Xenos don't like dust very much!

If you should ever need to clean it, a small sponge soaked in mildly soapy water would make softening, then wiping away any dust or fingerprints a safe and relatively easy job. Rinse the same way. I'd avoid using any kind of cloth or tissues to dry it, as they may leave little particles that are hard to remove without giving it another sponge bath! You could dry it fairly fast with a hair dryer set on cool or warm (not hot!).

In case you're wondering where all this is coming from, I've got a sizable collection of Hot Toys and other 1:6 scale figures, many of which are Aliens & Predator-related. I'm NOT a "fanboy", but I am pretty much totally geeked out when it comes to Hot Toys stuff!

If you ever have any questions, please feel free to ask. I've also modded and even performed surgery successfully on many of them too. Here are a couple of pics of two of my favorite older figures. Hope you like 'em!

Haha, thanks for the comments all, and the tips Mudshark, Nice Hicks!! Looks just like him!!

I will look into a display cover for it, I hear the tail is very delicate, and I'd hate for Jynx to be trying to achieve new heights with her "Cat Yoga" she does at night! haha

And yes, he is HUGE!!
