The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Thanks for the inspiration on the data plate and the offer of the excel file. I did some work and put up pics in my thread.

Well todays mail was like Christmas! I got my Noble Mag Insert as well as my new charger. I just put the mag insert together here at work. Yes, for some reason I decided to bring my mag base with me today. Wow, what an awesome piece. Lokks great, went together easily, and the full color instructions were great. Can't wait to get home and slap the mag in it. Just make sure when you do yours to flip the tabs upside down. Matrix/Snow Wolf made them upside down.

Thanks Noble!

Also, now I can charge my new battery as well. Hopefully, I'll get a video up tonight of my Tracer Unit.

EDIT-

Just got my mag base insert installed. Great piece, easy to do.

Nice. Can't wait to get mine. Any issues with loading or gaps due to lack of the clips?

No fit issues whatsoever. The mag snaps into the base with a nice click. If anything mag base is a tighter fit to the bottom of the shroud. It feels very solid.

I do have a few tips though. You can install the insert with a regular Allen wrench, but the kind with the ball tip would make putting the screws in a lot easier. You can install the first tab by putting your wrench straight thru the opposite sides holes on the insert. Once the first tab is on, you will need to use the short end of your wrench to screw in the screws. A ball head driver would make it a bit faster. It took me about 5 minutes, beginning to end.

Haven't fired the gun yet. That's coming after dark!

I ordered one of these Mid Caps from Evike.com.

Evike.com Airsoft Guns - Airsoft Gun Magazines | Evike.com Airsoft Guns - Electric Gun Magazine | Evike.com Airsoft Guns - Midcap | Evike.com Airsoft Guns - King Arms 110 rd Mid-Cap magazines for Thompson Series Metal Gearbox Airsoft AEG (one) |

It came in today. Of course it's too long to fit in a PR. The nice thing about Mid Caps is there is no winding.
Here's what I did. Noble mentioned that 1.5 inches needed to be removed to fit a PR, so that's what I did. I sectioned the mag and removed 1.5 inches.
Image

I also cut a section of spring out as well. Slid back together we get a shorter mag.
Image

After glueing, JB Welding, sanding, and painting, we get this!
Image Image Image

Bonus is that it even fits in Noble's mag base insert!

Stand by and I will check this morning. I did discover with the Noble insert it doesn't insert all the way. I think it needs to be shortened about 1 3/4 inches, not 1 1/2 inches. The problem I think is the way the top of mag is designed, they are slightly different between the two. We had a house full of guests yesterday and the wife wanted me to come out of the bedroom and "socialize". I didn't get a chance to fire it yesterday, plus I realized I need a speed loader for these! I'll need to push in the BB's by hand until I get one! I'll spend more time looking at it this morning and do a test fire.

Tried the new mag out this morning. It works great! No jams. I didn't count how many it holds but I can get 95 in there I know that. I may buy a few more of these mags and do the same thing.

On another note, who hates the fact that the GL pump handle is not spring loaded? I know I was. Well, with this simple mod, it's now spring loaded. I found the spring at Lowes in the screw department. A few washers and screws, drill a few holes and done. Check the pics.

Image

Image

I did have to flip the screw and spring to the bottom so it wouldn't interfere with the battery.

Image

And it works like a charm. No more having to "push" the pump handle forward.

Out of curiosity, why would you want the pump spring loaded? It wouldn't be on a real shotgun. Very good ideas on how to make it though. Nice and creative. I am off to Lowes myself in a bit to get a few parts (hopefully) for some caseless rounds.

I always detested the lack of any resistance on the pump handle. The first thing that came to mind was add a spring. I know shotguns aren't spring loaded, but I wanted something there. Now, if I could figure out a way to make it go "clickity clack"!

Good luck on the caseless round search. Interested to see what you find. I may have to head back up there!

Ah, I understand. Yeah, I fabbed up some iron striker plates to go in the SPAS cage. It made a clack noise, but still nothing like the real thing. Too few moving metals to really achieve the right sound. :( Or least, too few so that I decided it wasn't worth the effort. lol. I'm making a go at the caseless ammo with some .5" wood dowels and .38 S&W hollowpoints. It looks better in my head than it sounds lol.. I will have some sketches and then some actual photos up in my thread soon.

O.K. I found my other digital video camera today. I bought this for our wedding 2 years ago. Let me know if this video plays alright for everyone. Here is a link and the pic is clickable, or should be...
If it works then I'll grab a video tonight of the PR firing tracer rounds.

Well, I thought I'd get more fun out the airsoft PR. I just found out I am next in line for Majenko's new PR electronics package. It will feature PR firing sounds, GL rack and fire sounds, mag in and out sounds, full and semi auto function for firing, and LEDs for the barrel and GL! So, once it arrives I'll be stripping out all the airsoft bits. Of course I'll cover the instalation of the kit in the PR. Best part? $58 shipped!!!!

Well, guess what arrived in the mail today?

Image

Majenko Pulse Rifle Soundboard!!!
I'll start a seperate thread on the instalation of this in my Pulse Rifle. That way it will be easier for members to find it, instead of digging thru this thread. The board arrived in a nice little foam lined plastic case. The board looks very good, all the traces and soldering are all top notch looking. I still need to pick up my switches, some more solder and plan the layout of things. Keep an eye out over the next day or two for an instalation thread.

Looking forward to hearing it! It has Pulse Rifle firing sounds, mag insertion sound, grenade racking sound, and grenade launcher firing w/explosion sound. It will also have a super bright LED in the barrel that is synced to the firing sound as well as one for the grenade launcher. And of course when the mag is inserted the counter goes to 99 and then down to 95. All for about $58! Heck of a deal for all the features!

Giggity...

Really though, awesome build man. The glow in the dark bb's are really awesome lol. How much has everything cost you would you say?
