The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I think Bella's graffiti is made up of old alchemy symbols. I can't find an exact match of course, but if you do a Google search some similar designs pop up.

Over on the Gearbox forums a long time ago, it was speculated Bella followed Norse religion

Awesome trailer but I feel like I would have enjoyed finding Hicks alive myself in the game, other than in a trailer months before the game releases, but thats my opinion :)

Couldn't agree more, it'll be cool finding out how he's back, but it would have been better to have left it a surprise.

yeah now that i have gone back and watched it about 10 more times. i does look like Hicks which is bad ass i was pissed he died in 3 or well we thought he did. One of my ideas is that he was taken from the ship when WY planted the Eggs on the ship and then had Hicks make that video telling the USCM that there is no one left alive so dont bother sending any1 to look for us. but thats my 2 cents. Also just wondering how many Marines here will be hitting up there local Gamestops in armor. I can also say i cant wait only about 6 weeks left.

Yes I do!

Of course all that was left of Hicks in A3 was a stain, so they could have easily nabbed him before.

That is really cool, always thought it was such a waste of a good character.

I finally remembered the two words I couldn't think of to describe Bella's armor art. Sigil and Stave. Sigils and staves are used as magical talismans for protection or summoning. I know that I've seen the symbol on her armor in an 18th century text about astrology, numerology and sigils, but I can't find it! If only I could remember the name of the book. It's loaded with examples of sigils, including numerous ones for angels, demons, elements and alchemy.

It's a good theory since he seemed pretty zonked in the film. If he'd been awake enough to record the message he probably would have helped out with fighting the Queen!

Oh man, if this means Hicks is alive then I can finally watch Alien 3 without cursing about Hicks being killed off. Although now I hope he survives the game also or at the very least go out a total badass which he deserved.

Interestingly, if he does indeed survive could we see him make an appearance in a future film hopefully set before Alien Resurrection?! We can only hope...

Hicks is the new Boba Fett :D

I know the Prometheus film series is probably where the focus is going to be for the next X number of years, but the idea of an Aliens sequel set between Alien3 and A:R rocks.

True but with the hyper/ cryo sleep tech they have he could have been frozen/ awoken over and over which could explain the age he would be now. Would be great to see him armoured up again.

Alternatively, his aged appearance could be the result of a very unusual length of time in hyper sleep.

Maybe an appearance in a prometheus sequel. Not sure how far those films will go in the timeline of the aliens universe.

Even if we have to settle for more cannon game-sequels, I'd take it! If they want to keep making them, I'll keep buying special edition versions of them.

I think Games and Books would be great. but now if you think about it in the Original Aliens comic that took place after the movie Hick was still alive so now that part is true just that Newt was still alive dont play into it. just cant wait for this and its been pissing me off with everyone that i talk to about the game they say they dont think the game will be good. or hope the controls will be ok. i just tell them i have played Pre Alpha and the Escape mode and they are great so they will be happy with it.

Same hear, alot of my buddies are doubtful about this game. Cant blame them though, they are still scarred by the mess that was AvP.

as a console game, AVP was mediocre at best. the story was good, but game play was severely out dated. it played much better on a PC IMO

Not sure if this has been mentioned aleady but....ouch

www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-12-11-a ... aiting-for

It makes me a little worried to read but it can't be as bad as the last AvP game. I played the multiplayer of A:CM at eurogamer and that was good fun!

Video game critics are usually really hyper critical. And usely have the strangest taste in games and if its not triple A or revolutionary they poo poo it. I have faith.

Worldwide release is apparently 12th of February, but I won't be convinced until I have a copy in my hands (bought my first Playstation 2 for this game :? ).
