Can anyone tell me if the lamp head on the shoulder lamp is supposed to have any buttons or dials on it?

I have an actual Reflecta lamp head and there's one red rocker button on the right side (as you look at the light) while right above that is a small hole. I have images on-hand of fan built lamps and in this hole is what looks like a small dial. Also on the upper left side (again, as you are looking at the light) there is yet another hole.

What should stay and what should go?

Red rocker switch should stay...I'm not sure about the dial as I've never seen one on there.
