The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I've posted this in the RPF before, but now that I've finally ventured over here, I thought I'd show it off again.

This is my recreation of the original Alien Motion Tracker as built by Ash. It's made mostly out of original parts. The body is the correct Panasonic TV, the scope is cast from a real stereo scope, the gully cover is a really gully cover and even most of the greblies are cast from the real thing. About the only parts scratch built are the ice cube tray and the all of the nozzles on the front.

Anyhow, I hope you guys enjoy. This is one of three that I've built, and the first of the five I am planning to build.

If you have any questions, ask away.

Gregg

This is a helluva first post!

Welcome to the AL! Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice job! :delta:

This has been on my to do list for a few years now. I've got the Panasonic Ranger sitting in my garage...

That's about as far as I got.

Finding a 12 cube ice cube tray alone is a daunting task; I know why you scratch made it. You've done a man's job Sir!

Thanks for the kind words. I can't take all the credit though, I had a great deal of help with the scratch pieces from Shawn Morgan, who made the ice cube tray.

I'll probably offer castings at some point.

Now I just need an Aliens MT to go with it. I hear there is a Turkish knock off coming out soon...so hopefully I can get one of those!

I think it's a joke at Spat's expense.

Definitely at Spat's expense. He's my buddy :).

Actually, I don't have anything else related to the first movie. I decided to build this after seeing one Birdie built on the RPF, so I spent a year plus collecting parts. I don't think I'd even seen Alien in 20 years before I decided to build this. Of course since picking up my first Panasonic TV, I've seen it like 10 times.

I am really excited about Spat's MT though. It's such a beautiful prop.

As far as my castings...there is always the mail :).
