The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I bought a face hugger kit and started the build today. I thought this was the perfect place to share some progress pics.

Here it is, trimmed, assembled and milliputted at the seams. I heated the tail area and created a few curves to add a bit of life to it, otherwise the straight tail looks like rigamortis has set in. I'm quite pleased with how it's shaping up so far:

Nest, primer then paint. I'll share some pics of the paint up when I'm finished.

Outstanding! The curve of the tail is a huge improvement.

What glue did you use ?

I had bought an Alcyon one long ago but could never have it glued...

I use superglue with vinyl kits, it works really well if you gently heat the 2 parts up before gluing and apply a little bit of pressure as you join the parts.

Painting has begun this morning - here it is with a couple of coats of first warm flesh, then pale flesh acrylics. I'm going to build up lots of layers to try and achieve an organic, lifelike look to the skin:

Right, it's the wife's birthday so we're off out - can't be playing with face huggers all day or I'll find myself in a real horror story. ;)

What are your plans for displaying the finished piece?
