The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

If it was quiz I would probably manage 7 of them. 2 I had forgotten but already knew when read. I was not aware of The Texas chainsaw statement but then again I doubt it had much to do with the film so agreed 9 of 10.

/Jonsey

PS I could probably have done a much more complicated one.

I didn't know about Meryl Streep or the connection between O'Bannon's Crohns disease and the Alien story (but I find that dubious... does anyone know any first-hand sources for that?)

I have never seen him state in an interview that was the case but many Crohns sufferers state they feel like something is going to burst out of them (i had an ulcer that when it flared up felt like something was trying to push through my ribcage ) so it could be thats where he got the idea, Meryl streep is mentiond on the Blu-rays

;) Quite.

Meryl Streep is also mentioned in the Alien3 commentary - I gather the ADI guys gave her a cameo in Alien3; they used some of her body casts in place of Weaver? They seemed to imply that she was a bit of a nightmare to work with on Death Becomes Her and had very little patience for special effects.

it was gordon carroll when talking about casting ripley, he states that they did not ask Meryl streep as her long term partner had just died

It's true about Dan O'Banon and his condition influencing his ideas, although it's not common knowledge (yet).
There's an article published here over at my mate Dom's Alien Explorations blog that is well worth a read:
http://alienexplorations.blogspot.co.uk ... -idea.html
As a sufferer of IBS I found it of particular interest as will sufferers of more serious stomach conditions (not mentioning any names :xeno:)
It's also something Diane, his wife has talked about on his Facebook page.
