The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I've already commented on the rpf, I'm just glad I've got two different forums to watch this beast take shape :)

Are you planning to cast it and sell some?

Thank you :)

I've been attempting to get his head ready for moulding, all the grey area's are pretty much ready I've just got to go over all the clay areas with some detailing & texturing, a fair bit still:

That is by far the best representation I have seen of the alien ('ALIEN' movie style) to date.
Incredible.

The closeup on the teeth reminded me that I have an old dentist's display model that is just a jaw and exposed teeth. While I don't think I'd be able to pull of anything as fantastic as this, it might be a fun starting point for an Alien head.
What reference material are you using for your sculpt, it really looks spot on!

Good point! What will you make the dome out of, and how visible will the "skull face" be when you're done?

That looks terrible! Worst evar sculpture of a Giger alien head. I'm a nice guy though and I'll get rid of it for you. When you're done with it just let me know and I'll send you the money for shipping and I'll uhhhh dispose of it properly...

WOW!! thanks for the kind word folks :D

I'm using pics off the net & the book Giger's Alien for reference, I've gathered quite a few (what I call) good images with the help of a few RPFers.

For the dome I'm intending to cast up a head & then build the shape of the dome onto it in resin, get it as right as I can & use it as a buck for vac forming. ATM I'm planing to form it clear & then mist paint onto the inside so that you can still see the skull etc through it, about the same as in the movie.

Teeth wise, I found those real fun to make & then alter several times  I made them out of car body filler (p38). I cut a spare peice of foam to roughly the right shape & then built up a 8-10mm thick layer on the curve, drew the teeth onto the filler & then carved them initially.
I then had to modify them a couple of times & I ended up remaking the fangs. for the new fangs I roughly carved out the shape into plasticine & dropped filler into it, poped it out & sanded them to shape. There quite a bit different to human teeth :)

I'm currently busy trying to get the head ready for moulding, I'm working on the clay area's ATM detailing & texturing with a few minor alterations here n there. I'm a bit of a perfectionist & being my first sculpt I'm taking my time to get it to a stage I'm happy with before I make the moulds.

Thanks again for the interest :D

Fantastic. I just can't believe it when you say this is your first time sculpting though. You've got a real talent!
