The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Welcome to the AL. :)

There's a few other members in your area of Scotland, so meeting up with them is a possibility. 8)

What happens at D'Con, stays at D'Con (although does seem to spill over into marriage proposals and new lives)

It's like the Matrix. No one can be told what happens at D'Con, one must experience it for themselves

Hi All
Ian here, from Sunny Hartlepool. Been interested in the Alien Universe since the first film, and since Aliens, I always wanted the CM uniform. I have nothing apart from an M1 Helmet (unmodified) and a modicum of experience...
All hints, tips and pointers to obtaining the kit will be much appreciated
Many Tx
Ian

Welcome to The Legacy Ian!

I'd say your first port of call should be the archive section; there's a wealth of info in there for someone like yourself. Next I'd say just have a thorough read through of any topics you might think could help you (don't forget we have a decent search function on here too). Lastly there are plenty of experts and prop builders who can help you out on your way to becoming a fully kitted out Marine!

Harry

Tx Harry,
I've already noted that sources for uniform is a tad limited - MAA and Safariflage are no more, but I'm sure that alternatives are out there!

There are some decent alternatives but you can't beat the 'real' thing so to speak.

I don't want to say too much at the moment but I'm pretty confident that there will be more uniform options on their way soon, watch this space! ;)

Hi All,
Scutchy here from Australia, I am a huge fan of the alien and aliens movies, I have been drooling over the costumes some of you guys have made on these forums for quite some time and am planing on making one of my own very soon.

I hope to be able to get heaps of info from these forums to complete my suit in time for a dress up party later in the year.

Cheers, Scutchy.

Hello Everyone!
Kelsey from California here, I've recently rediscovered my love of the first two alien movies and was pleased to find such a big costuming group! I've been costuming for around 4 years although its generally always animal or fantasy related. :3

I've joined to research and start on an Alien suit and find the elusive starter kit (doesn't matter which version although I'm partial to the Giger the best) :3

Thanks!
Kelsey

I think they're from someone called monster room on eBay, but doing a quick search I can't provide a link to their ebay page(s).

Hy all!

Im new here on the forums however I have posted a new topic a few weeks ago:P My name is David from Hungary ( small country in Europe ) I allwayes loved the movie and the Colonial Marine feeling.
Im also an airosft player and a nice USCM armour could get handy:P
Afther months of research I finally started to built a pep armour. Although I could have just order a Spat armour but, hey than where is the challange:D
So it was a big one ( and still it is ) I have to reinforce the armour with lots of fiberglass so BB-s cant shoot it through. For a few months of building now I finnaly can cut the materials and put the armour together for a test fit ,than I can paint the whole thing. Camo is going to be a tough job. ( and neew some advice how to make it look "weathering" like this http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a337/ ... /001-8.jpg )
My biggest problem was to translate everything to hungarian from English from the forums, about the materials what you quys use for buliding a pep armour and find the stuff in the markets. Sorry for the long post happy to be here.

Well as the picture you linked, is of nick-a-trons armour, you might as well have a look at his excellent armour build thread here for ideas/advice.
