The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

cheers Spat, I think it is coming along nicely. there are a few things i would do differently if I did another kit but im more than happy so far. It is a great kit and hopefully after i can afford the armour i may get an MK41-K from you as its a great design.

I've got this shot taken at a drop

Left to right, G&P with real SPAS, Matsucorp resin then my Mk1 Spulse

Then this was a shot when I put it up for sale. Gave the SPAS cage, receiver and vent a rub with graphite powder to give it a metallic sheen.

Thing note was mine was an older sculpt of the Spluse.

I like the MK1, it kinda reminds me of the WH40k universe over the years of the way the bolter, for example, has evolved in shape and detail. The MK1 to me has a nice retro look and i like how the trigger is like the vp70.

Like I mentioned earlier, there will be a definitive assembly tutorial coming very soon. It should show a whole bunch of different ways to assemble the kit and some other tricks and tips for hyper detailing it.

The tutorial on my site is just the way I made it that one time 5 years ago (or so) when took the pics. There are obviously dozens of other ways to put one of these together!

Soon!

LOL! "Watch those corners!"...

Great work so far DK. All the time & effort seems to be really paying off. I actually quite like it in its unpainted black form, like the company weapons at the end of Alien 3. :D

It's a simple touch but, in my opinion, it's well thought out that the parts are pre-cast in this colour too. :like:

Look forward to further installments. As a noob to kits like this it's been interesting to see it as a work in progress.

John. :)

Good question. It was purchased from ebay and it isn't as accurate as the spats one.

I have ordered a bunch of things from spats' website, but I didn't know about it until after I'd bought the rifle.

Its a good starting rifle, looks similar to the MK1. I like how it has a proper magazine. does it come with an LED counter? what is it made from? It looks pretty light. My spulse has a fair bit of weight to it but i don't mind as it adds that little extra touch. The kit in the picture looks very rough around the edges so looks as though you will be doing what i've been doing........lot's of sanding

Was it from an ebay seller in south africa? I seen some stuff a short while ago like the flamer kit. It looked good but i wanted my spulse more.

There is lots of stuff on spats store that im after so can't wait for payday. I would love the vp70 but i think chances of getting that through customs would be slim unless it was sprayed. I used to x-ray freight and although you would see it has no moving or working parts i would still have to pull it as an imitation as its based on a real firearm. Im keeping my eyes peeled for a plastic cheapo BB version. If I do come across them i may get a few and post on here in case anyone else wants one.

I was just looking at their stuff and was being tempted by the motion tracker. Shame spat does not do them. How do you know they are crap? Have you purchased from them or know someone? If so, what was the item like?

It's made of resin ad didn't come with the LED counter. I've ordered one of those from spats.
It wasn't from that south african seller. It's from a UK seller.
I ordered a VP70 as well. I hope it gets through alright. I've had a biker scout pistol from america and that got through., but it doesn't quite look as real as the vp70 does.

Do you have a link? I would like to get a vp70. Could you show us pics of the building of your pulse rifle. I would love to see it complete and painted. I think it could look really good.

My VP's have never had a problem with UK customs since they're in kit form.

The company I work for are strict when it comes to any type of imitation firearm and a lot of the time end up sending them back to the customer. Occasionally, we have the odd real thing which is then handed over to the police. It is the reason i was worried about the spulse when ordering. Some parcel companies go a little overboard.

How many parts does your vp70 come in?
