I have used the thin zap ca glue although there was a thicker zap glue to choose from. I think maybe the thicker version would be more useful as it could maybe used to fill in some minor gaps and air holes.
Im not getting much time at the moment to do as much as i like but will keep updating as i go.

Hi,

I've never worked with resin before but this looks like a great kit for a fairly low price. Looking forward to seeing it develop as you progress through the build. :D

You may know this already but just in case it's of any additional help... After sanding if you want to tidy up any joint lines, like the area you mention above, use fine steel wool. 00 grade is a good choice & can be bought at most DIY stores. I've used this in the final part of the process of refinishing wooden rifle stocks etc. It works really well & gives a much finer finish than sandpaper alone.

Regards.

John. :)

LOL! No problem. Glad the tip was useful. I'm sure all the preparation will be worth it when it's finished. I remember equally losing the will to live when refinishing a vintage rifle stock a while ago!

Hope the rest of the assembly work goes ok.

John. :)

Lol i think my problem is that i have a much higher finish quality target in my head which may be well past my level of competence. However, i'm still going to try my best at this great kit and hopefully do it justice. Im still sanding/ rubbing down various parts before i bond and screw them together. The shroud needed a fair amount of correction and have only today finished doing that but was well worth it. I have not screwed any of the parts together just yet as im thinking about the best wau of doing it. From looking at things the grenade launcher section looks the most difficult part to do. Will most likely be doing the drilling and screwing parts the weekend so look out for an update.

LOL! Don't be too sure. If you're methodical & take your time, as you seem to have been doing so far, then I think you'll end up with a very good end result. 8)

All the best.

A quick update. Today i have been sanding parts again trying to get the best fit possible. Have also been using milliput two part epoxy putty to fill in any gaps such as holes left by air pockets while the resin dried. Have also managed to bond a few parts as you will see in the pics. Will start the drilling and screwing in the morning. Hopefully by sunday night i will have a fully assembled spulse rifle. : :D

Do you have any pictures? I think this kit has been an experience already. I've done so much sanding i'm surprised there is anything left lol. After this is completed i may get the short version - the m41-k

None of when I built it, they seem lost to the internet :(

I've got this shot taken at a drop

Left to right, G&P with real SPAS, Matsucorp resin then my Mk1 Spulse

Then this was a shot when I put it up for sale. Gave the SPAS cage, receiver and vent a rub with graphite powder to give it a metallic sheen.

Thing note was mine was an older sculpt of the Spluse.

It looked great. I think my cast is the MK2 as i can see a few slight differences. Where did you get the carry case from? I need to get one but dont want to spend loads. Im also thinking of getting a generic two point sling until i can get a proper one.

The case was from eBay, although it was huge! You could fit two PRs in there. Certainly wouldn't recommend it. Much better to go for a soft case, I think.

ha i was doing it as soon as the grip and trigger was attached. Im going to go with OD as i've always liked the PR in that colour. I got the humbrol paints ready and waiting but got to do some more puttying first and a few more screws to go in.
