Just bought some Aervoe Earth Brown paint. It'll be good to go whenever I get my shoulder lamp and do some PR touch-ups.

I really like that wall rack too, what's it made out of? Looks like some type of a ac vent or window covering?

Wow, that Aervoe Earth Brown is SPECTACTULAR! It just came in today and it goes on so dark! But when it's completely dry, it's like a whole different color! I painted the little U-shaped bar that goes on the back of the shroud near the metal stock and it looks so much better than it used to.

I should've taken a before and after pic.

I can't wait to finish the shroud, which has darkened a LOT since the PR's arrival.

FINALLY got all the neccessary tools (I was missing a couple of Allen wrenches) for a PR makeover.

I'll post this question in here, as it'll hopefully get the experienced builders reading it.

I'm breaking down the Tokyo Marui M1A1, but I've got stuck quite early.

This image in the MiM PR kit:

Shows what looks like a bradawl (sp?) used to push into a hole in the top of the outer barrel, to release it (after two screws underneath are removed, natch).

However, it doesn't seem to 'give' when I insert a point in the tiny hole, so I can't get the cover off.

Am I doing it wrong?

From what I know (and I just tried on my own M1A1, hehe), that's a hex screw. You'll need an allen wrench/hex key to get that out. Oh, I got it out using a metric hex key, don't know if it works with imperial ones.

By the way, that pic's reversed! A Thompson with the lever on the left side, sheesh!

Erk, any idea if the likes of Homebase sell those?

Edit: Googled and found that they're sold all over the place, so should be able to buy locally.

There's two allen keys in the PR kit, but the smaller one is still too big for the hole, so will take that key with me so I get ones which are smaller.
