The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I'm lead to believe that it's a one suitcase limit on BA flights. How is that going to affect what costumes you're taking? Are the guys and gals only taking marines and how will this affect the bigger costumes such as Alien?

As I've said in my emails (you've been reading every thrilling word of them, right?), you can take one checked suitcase (up to 23kg and 90cmx75cmx43cm) for free. A suitcase significantly over these limits, or a 2nd, 3rd or 4th case is allowed but will attract a hefty charge (in both directions) - think £50+ per case in each direction.

Abe fits into a hardcase somewhat under the dimension limits, and makes the total weight about 22kg allowing 1kg for toiletries and random sex-toys. My clothes, and just about everything else needs to go into carry-on bags:

  • One carry-on bag of the normal carry-on size (maximum 56cm x 45cm x 25cm). You must be able to lift the bag into the overhead compartment unaided.
  • A second carry-on bag that is either a laptop bag, satchel or hand-bag that is small enough to fit under the seat in front of you. (note that the laptop bag does not have to contain a laptop!)

(sorry, if you've been seeing the emails you'll know I like repetition!)

its hard work, but multiple costumes can be taken and still be under the wieght limit ;)
Im leaving the marine helmet behind, putting Predator bodysuit and head in my carry on, along with a few civvies, and possibly wearing my classic BSG jacket and boots for the flight :p

Ive had a little practice, and my checked baggage is just under 23kg. Not bad for 4 costumes, Tux and clothes :D

I don't have a reliable way to weigh my bag. but I'd imagine my armour along isn't going to tip the scales.

My other 2 costumes are... cloth only. Very light.

I've got my Terry English. Clothes, Toiletries and Pants boy into the suitecase and it weighs exactly 20kg. So i think you'll be fine! Also including the helmet!!

Aye, but no armour means you'll be left out from all the cool kids! ;)

there was an old airline commercial where the people wore all of their clothes on the plane, makes you a little thicker, but it could work
