hello all! i have just won an auction for this PR kit but i dont know who's its by or how acurate it is or anything like that. i kinda did this the wrong way, shud have found this out first THEN placed my bid. but my impatient self couldnt help bidding away. oh well. so, any info on this kit would be a great help. many thanks.

Its the same one I have.
It is on the low end of prs.
Same as the one I carry.
The resin parts need a little work, and the vacuform is a bitch to put together.
Overall though, pretty good for the price.
As long as you didn't pay much.
I got mine for under a hundred.

hey thanks falken1o8! yeah i did pay under 100 for her and looks as if i get a resin welder thrown in too! i dont think i will be using the vac formed shrouds that come with the kit. ill try and get some better quality ones from somewhere.

hmm not a bad idea. im thinking of making this an all black company PR. does anyone know of an online guide to putting this kit together?

Nickatron, you will find some guides for cutting the ejection port in that handguard on the m41a.com website. Keep in mind, it is a found item pulled from a SPAS-12 springer (unless I am mistaken). I don't know how it will compare to the real thing in scale.

As for the shrouds... you may always send those to me for disposal.

I have one of those PR's, and I also decided to make it an all black "Weyland-Yutani" security model. I am stuck though, I can't figure out a way to mount the GL I have made to the body of the thompson, and the shroud is really becoming an issue for me too. In fact I'm considering tossing it and ordering one of Matt's black shrouds.

The mag well on these shrouds are too short for a real thompson mag to be used, so I decided to just build my own magazine out of wood. It doesn't come with a magazine, atleast mine didn't.

A bit of the GL progress. The internal shotgun was a sheapo pump I got from ebay for about $18, it didn't come with the kit either.

It came with a fixed clip, so I had to chop the dang thing off of her.

I also took a dremel to the airsoft spas cage that came with it, so it would have all the vents. It came out OK, but not perfect.

The resin parts I found were very easy to work with, and they were by far my favorite parts of the kit to modify and paint. I used a particular dremel "grinding" bit to give the flat charging handle a little character.

Now, for my favorite part of the build, I wanted to do somehting very special for the grip, and initially I was going to inlay gold into this:

Almost forgot that one.

The shroud, once I complete it will look like the grip. Deep black, and glossy, with a WY logo, but this time it will be "outset" instead of "inset".

I have to return material to the shroud (in the form of a "for sale" sign) I had to cut away, and really sit down and engineer a way to mate the two sides together that I can do and that I like. I don't want to just glue them shut.

You know if Wakai drilled some holes through his shroud mold in the corners he would get a much more defined pull and it would be a lot easier to join the two halves with less work.
